Awesome tool!
Wow, this saw works great. It is easy to use and light weight. It remained stable while I was on the ladder cutting the out of control pepper trees from my power and cable lines. Great value when compared to the small fortune I was quoted for a tree trimming service.

Reach
The "reach" term used might be misleading to one looking for a pole saw. It takes into account the operator's height and ability to hold the extended saw. (Apparently, they over-estimated my height.)The pole extends to a length of 9.5 feet and this is clearly stated on the box. Read the specifications carefully. The saw works great and, at 6' statue, I am able to cut at about 13 feet. Only used once due to limited amount of yard debris allowed for pickup each week. Eagerly awaiting next week.

Did the job nicely!
I am happy with this purchase. Thr home owner's insurance agent for our condominium required the removal of branches that were touching the buliding from two trees. We got an outrageously high estimate from professional tree trimmers to do this job. Instead I bought this. I had to climb on a porch roof and the flat roof of the building to access the branches. I cut them off in fairly small pieces so there was no chance of the falling branches damaging anything. It went quickly. The job was done in less than an hour, for $400 less than the professionals wanted. The tool was sharp and cut through the branches quickly. It was a little heavy at full extension, but I always made sure that my footing was secure, and I didn't turn the cutter on until the chain was in position. Assembly was straightforward, although it appeared possible to attach the chain assembly upside down if you didn't pay close attention to the instructions. My only complaint was that I had to go to the local hardware store to buy a quart of bar and chain oil. It would have been nice if they had included a few ounces for the first filling of the reservoir.

Like a hot knife through butter.
I couldn't believe how easily this tool cut through 3-4 inch sections of branch, especially since I was on top of a 15 ft ladder. The fact that it is line powered ( vs battery ) is of double benefit since you have unlimited cutting time, and the weight of the 16 ga cord hanging off of the very clever cord loop of the handle actually balances the whole assembly pretty well, you're not constantly straining to hold upthe cutting end to position it when it is mildly extended. Only when I had to fully extend the two piece poleto get at some 2 inch branches on the far side of the tree did positioning the blade become unwieldy.I also used it to cut the branches into 2-3 foot sections on the ground for bundling and recycling. Did a fine job turning all the branches I cut into 3 - 2ft diameter bundles with very little effort.Assembly and setup were easy since I already have a larger electric chain saw, and I think chain life will be excellent since it was like a hot knife through butter from the first cut to the last. If my other chainsaw dies I'd definitely consider a larger Black and Decker to replace it.

Chain won't stay on
works fine until the chain comes off .... about an hour use and stopped to put chain back on 4 times ... I'm no lumberjack. but I've owned a few chainsaws in my day

Saved me hundreds of dollars
I love this little saw! We had some willow trees that had become overgrown and too tall to trim, even with a tall ladder. To have a professional come and trim the trees for us would have cost more than $500.The saw is lightweight and easy to use. I am a small-framed, somewhat middle-aged female, and I had no problem using this saw. I read all the reviews before purchasing and heeded the advice that some others had given - so helpful, especially about keeping the saw blade straight and letting the weight of the saw do the work. This is one of the best purchases I have made!

I should have bought this decades ago!
I should have bought this decades ago! I'm not even 5' tall (and I'm a straight female-haa haa) and I was honestly scared. It felt heavy because all the weight is on the cutting end. I read and re-read the instructions several times to make sure I set it up correctly, took all the necessary precautions, put the dogs in the house (just in case), and turned it on. I was amazed at how safe and confident I felt so I started cutting branch after branch and am willing to trim other family homes' trees because it was easier than I thought. Although, it is kinda heavy, once the saw is on the tree branch that you'll be cutting, the saw rests there and you won't really feel the weight. In fact, you will be using the weight of the saw to help cut through the branch. And because the blade is moving forward, I somehow feel the saw is not as heavy. I even felt confident to use the pole extension! In the past, I was using a hand saw and it was just exhausting and time consuming. The branches I'm cutting are about 2"-5" in diameter. I don't have enough green waste trash cans so I'll get to use my saw again after the green waste can is empty again!
