DermLite Carbon Dermascope Microscope

Item is exactly as described - and comes with a silicone shell and wrist strap, plus a lens spacer. Comes with care guide. The shell may be plastic, but it feel sturdy and stable. The switches are easy to use and swap between during use, and the lighting and magnification are detailed - my exam view is something that surpases dermatoscopes that click on to the otoscope handle. I recommend for primary care providers looking to maintain their dermatologic experience.

This dermatoscope was gifted to me, so I am thankful I did not actually spend any money on it. After about 12 months, the plastic spacer would become so loose that it would easily fall off. I once had it wall off and land in a patient's underwear. The battery's life is way too short for my liking, and the replacement batteries are not cheap or easily obtained. Having to replace the battery every 2 months is likely not good for the environment, either.I recently upgraded to the DermLite DL4, and it's such a better tool in so many ways. There is really no reason why any serious dermatology professional should be toiling away at life using the Dermlite Carbon. Spend the extra $1000, and make your life and your patient's lives better.

Compact and easy to use! Fantastically useful in the clinic to examine skin lesions. Fits easily in your pocket and battery lasts very long.5 stars!

Works well and is compact enough to put in my pocket. Handy to have in a small practice. It was well worth the price.
