Inspirational!!
I bought this book in 1969 when I was stationed in the US Army in West Berlin, Germany. I ran on Hitler's old SS track located at Andrews Barracks. The stories Bob Richards presents are Olympic success stories at their best. He interviewed many gold medalists and wrote about their personal victories in the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympic games. The work ethic, the desire to win and the courage to follow through with one's dream became the greatest victories in these athletes lives. This book is very easy to read. Yes, it has some Bible verses included in the stories, but Bob Richards was an ordained pastor. I found the stories very inspiring.

Great book!!!
I love this book!!! It is Dan Gable's favorite book and he talks about it often. I got this book several years ago when it was out of print and my parents bought it for around $100, I was thrilled to see it was back in print so I had a copy that I didn't feel like I had to keep perfect because I didn't think there would be anymore made!

Worth the investment.
A friend of mine that won state wrestling championships and wrestled in Olympic trials, armed forces, NCAA etc. Was given the first edition of this book by his father. During his years of competition, he kept on hand for motivation. I ordered five and read one and have given others to grandchildren. I thought is was a motivating read for overcoming difficulties to excel. Motivation in a ethical and moral perspective. Hope it will be a positive for kids and for me as I try to be a athlete into me 70's. Worth a small investment.

The best motivational/ Inspirational book ever!!
I bought this book for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and he loved it. He couldn't put it down, He read it in one day!!! He's read it about 5 times and has notes in it with sticky pads. We bought 3 copies for each one of his nephews, for motivation and overall to keep them in a goal oriented mode. We have a very athletic family with wresting, baseball and football even some catttle ranching and bull riding. This book keeps us focused on giving your best and to always give 110% of yourself in not only sports but in life also.I would definatly suggest this book for a great read!!! For ages 8 and up!

Great read
I really like this book. There are so many out there about the "heart of a champion" but this one is simple and captivating at the same time. There's nothing better than reading testimonies of other people "championing" their way to victorious destinies. Very inspiring for the athlete and non-athlete.

Must read for any athlete.
I've read this book 3 times, and reference it often. I learned of this book from Dan Gable who said it is a must read for any serious athlete. I wish that there would be another edition with updated stories and sports figures, but the message the book conveys is excellent.

Really inspirational
Amazing book. Everything in it makes you want to push yourself and strive to be the best you can be. A dream is only limited by your own thoughts. This book opens your eyes to what you think you can and can't do. Limits are self-imposed. And the best thing about this book is that it is all based on real life events. What more evidence do you need.
