Works great for an air rifle
I have a .177 air rifle I like to target shoot in the back yard, and bulls-eye targets were getting old. This target is designed to be pushed into the ground for stability, but since that isn't an option for me, I used a scrap piece of wood with holes drilled in it to keep it upright. Then I can set it in front of a home-made pellet catcher and plink away. I shoot pellets instead of BBs, and while they won't knock the spinners completely around, they make a significant noise and movement. I spread out an old plastic tablecloth under the target, because when I hit it, the pellets flatten and bounce back a foot or two. At the end of my session, I can just gather up the tablecloth and collect all the used pellets.

Perfect fun with high power pellet rifles/pistols.
I found this product to be a great value for the money. I was frankly surprised at the thickness of the targets (1/8") and their steel composition; very substantial. The frame needs only to be pushed into the ground to stay stable. We're in drought here, so the ground is very hard. A couple of taps with a rubber mallet solved that issue. To test the "flip over" factor, I shot my Benjamin Trail NP, Nitro Piston, air rifle combo air rifle at 10 yds with Crosman 10.5 gr pellets. While these shoot at about 950 fps, they do pack a wallop & are the heaviest .177 cal pellets I have found. None of targets ever spun around to a flip, but they did give off of loud "pank" when hit and they swung on their pivot points - easy enough to know when you've scored a hit. Very satisfying. (Don't believe a CO2 pistol would work well with these; not enough power.)The day it arrived, my son & I shot close to 200 rounds between us, and the red target stickers were pretty much gone on the one side when we were finished. Some folks suggest getting replacement stickers, but I found it easier to get some orange day-glow spray paint and use a cutout to spray new target circles. I also plan to give the whole target occasional sprays with rust inhibiting flat black paint. The steel targets held up very well to this pounding and I don't imagine that they will ever get "worn out". But I'm sure that a .22 cal rimfire rifle would shorten the life expectancy of this target, but it's still a great value at the price. All in all, very satisfied and highly recommend this to any shooting enthusiast with a high powered pellet rifle. 5 stars!(Update 03/25/13)Used this with my new Umarex USA 2252267 Browning 800 Express .22 Pistol with great results. The targets reacted (spun/moved) better than with my Benjamin rifle at 10 yards, but be sure to wear safety glasses. Ricochets are not uncommon with this caliber.

Keeps falling over
Nice spinners but I can seem to keep it from folding up and falling down during use. I have sunk the vertical legs in the ground up to the horizontal bars and it still tips over. I shoot at distances between 20-35 yards with .22LR. Other 22 spinners have heavier construction and don’t fall down as easily

Too heavy for Airsoft BBs, sturdy against pellets
I bought this spinner target hoping to use it with my Airsoft BB guns and my two pellet guns. Don't even bother with this target for Airsoft BBs, they bounce right off and ricochet, even my 460 FPS rated sniper rifle just slightly moves the spinner, and the fired BB still ricochets. The spinners will swing slightly when hit with a pellet, and while the pellets do bounce off the target, the pellet deforms and does not ricochet. The orange stickers will tear easily, even when hit with an Airsoft BB, and pellets do take some paint off on impact, but not too much. There may be better spinner targets out there, so do some research. But if you're set on this particular target, don't get it for Airsoft BBs, and judging from other reviews, it doesn't seem durable enough for ..22 cal weapons. Get this only for pellet gun plinking.

Works great for both .177 and .22 pellets
My son and I were looking for targets for our .177 and .22 pellet rifles and pistols.Positives: * metal is durable * both sides of target may be used, as the two side "legs" can swivel 360° * legs foldable so it stores flat * when orange stickers wear out, just stick on more (not supplied) * nice "plink" sound when hit * great price ($13)Negatives * with the .177 pellets, the spinners don't spin all the way around. * only works on dirtWe have not yet tried a .22lr rifle, but we hope to bring it to an outdoor range sometime soon.

great for .177 BB
After reading some of the reviews, I decided to give this a try for my 750 FPS BB rifle. The BB's do make an imprint onto the targets, but I think it will last well enough for the price I paid. This will definitely help me to become more accurate. The targets don't actually spin because of the lower caliber and energy, but I'm fine with that. I can still tell when I've hit the target, and which target I've hit.If/When I wear through these targets and the stand, I will have no qualms with buying a replacement.

Great fun
Purchased for air rifle target and set it up on my 25yrd. shooting gallery table. The targets are tough and spin as designed. Paint touch up is a breeze with a can of black spray paint. I also use self adhesive 3/4" inventory control dots in various colors which are available at office supplies, wally world, etc. when the red target spots need replacing as they are very cost effective. If you are an air gunner buy it-you will like it.

No Good for .22lr Rifles
Advertised as "Solid steel construction" and "up to 22 cal rifles".I figured this meant it wouldn't immediately get mangled and contorted out of shape by .22lr (most common ".22" cartridge) rifle fire.I was very wrong. This target would probably be pretty good for .22 short, 22 CB caps, 22 BB caps, or airguns. Maybe .22lr pistols. But if you want a .22lr rifle target that will last, forget this.
