This Crafting Cabinet is just what I wanted
I’ve been searching for one of these transforming craft armoires for a while, pricing was always so crazy. This model is not as elaborate as the more costly ones, but just perfect for my sewing station.I love the color. I completely fell in love with the doors. The piece is a very nice cream with some markings that add a nice warn look to the piece. Matches my bedroom furniture nicely.Building: don’t be intimidated by the bag of screws and parts, each part of the bag has markings to let you know which screws/parts are for what.Very detailed explanation on the bag,I think you need to have some knowledge on putting things together, but if you never have, directions are great, it is not hard just follow the book. Building this unit took me alone 5 hours. I do enjoy putting things together. I did need help when lifting it right side up and hanging the doors. That went quick. I did have to unscrew a couple of things, but nothing major. The directions are very clear. Diagrams are very understandable. My mishaps were due to rushing.Pre drilled Holes: everything lined up perfectly.I built this on my wood floor. Directions call for building on carpet or wood I did start on my rug, but I felt the rug/carpet did not allow for accurate placement when matching up holes. Once I moved to the hard laminate floor it really was flawless.Shipping: couldn’t have gone better. I did receive a call from the shipping company to confirm day. The day of delivery I received another call letting me know they were 20 minutes away. They delivered 2 boxes into my entry way. Perfect. The boxes were not huge. 2-flat boxes. Guessing approximately about: 6”thick and 6’ long.Heavy boxes.Packaging: the packaging was really good. The outside of the boxes has a very thick cardboard around all the edging of the boxes. It seriously felt like a wood, to protect the items and boxes.Price: this craft armoire was a bit pricy, but after reading soo many reviews about its functionality I just got it. It’s definitely worth the price. The pieces are solid and the unit is really beautiful. This item is perfect for any crafter.Lots of storage: the bottom of the unit can be tricky to easily get to. I’m an older woman and you do need to get down low to access the bottom shelf. It’s doable and the shelf slides out wonderfully, I’ll just keep things I don’t need often.I thought the unit itself was on wheels, I would have liked that feature, but it’s on my laminate floor so it does slide easy, has plastic sliders.May be harder to slide on a carpet, if you do keep it on a carpet, allow spacing for the doors to open all the way to the sides of the unit. My spot is tight so I do have to slide it each time, so a carpet would not work for my needs. Plan to have space for this piece. It’s very heavy and solid. I love it. Can’t wait to load it up and work.Hope this helped you decide. I highly recommend this unit.

Well-designed and sturdy furniture, adjustable shelves a plus
I did much searching for a sewing machine cabinet, and ended up getting this armoire. I wanted a cabinet that would hold a large sewing machine, and yet not take up lots of wall space, since I wanted to place the furniture to fit between two windows. This is the only cabinet I found that met those requirements, even after looking at various different brands of sewing machine cabinets that cost much more. (The other designs/brands I looked at took up lots of wall space). This armoire arrived in good condition with all the parts. It took a few hours to put together, (someone handy with tools did this for me), but the instructions were good and it is beautiful. I agree with the other reviewers that it would be nice if this furniture were offered in a pure white color, since I am not particularly fond of the "distressed" finish. However, the cream color looks better than I expected. The cream color is neutral, so it coordinates with other furniture and wall colors. The upper adjustable shelves hold lightweight items, they are ideal for holding machine embroidery hoops or other notions. The surge supressor/power strip included with the unit has 3 electrical outlets for plugging in a sewing machine/lamp/other item. The fold-out table slides out easily and is sturdy. The lower storage shelf is a slide-out also, and there are pre-drilled holes at various levels in the sides of the armoire for screwing this shelf in---you can choose whether you want more height or less height above this shelf. The lower this shelf is placed, the more narrow the bottom, fixed shelf below it will be. Placed at a lower level, the sliding shelf allows room to store an average-size sewing machine and/or case. I would suggest you measure whatever it is that you want to store on the bottom 2 shelves (slide-out and fixed), to select which set of pre-drilled holes to use for screwing in the sliding shelf. Check the weight of your machine also, the weight capacity of the shelves of this unit are online. Be aware that some of the Bernina machines are extra tall and extra heavy, and require a cabinet with extra height & weight capacity.Whatever you are planning to store, check its height/weight before buying this armoire to determine whether it would fit properly here. My Viking sewing machine fits fine in this armoire. I would suggest measuring your machine with the embroidery unit attached (if applicable) to be sure there is room on the fold-out tabletop for it. Although my machine w/embroidery unit attached fits fine along the long side of the tabletop/slide-out, I found that, as far as storage of the embroidery unit, my embroidery unit is too wide to be stored on the shelves of this armoire, so it needs to be stored in its case in a closet. Since embroidery units vary in length/width, your embroidery unit is likely to be different.Overall, I am extremely happy with the appearance and functionality of this armoire, it does an excellent job of storage as well as being a great sewing machine cabinet. The folding table slides neatly & easily and makes my craft space much more organized. I like this armoire so much that I decided to get the coordinating Harbor View storage cabinet to hold my fabric/dress form/miscellaneous craft supplies. It is nice to have the furniture coordinate, and to be able to close the doors on both the armoire and the storage cabinet to convert the room to a guest bedroom.

Love this craft armoire!
Bought this to organize my sewing stuff. It is much roomier than I anticipated - holds both my regular sewing machine and my serger along with a bunch of supplies. Love it! It arrived in 2 heavy boxes - one was 80 lbs, the other 120 lbs. I am a 63 year old woman and a bit out of shape....(don't judge!). I managed to unpack the 80 lb box myself and cart the boards upstairs one or two at a time. Needed my husband to help with the 120 lb box. Both boxes were packaged well and had no damage at all. I was able to put the armoire together mostly by myself using a small battery operated screwdriver. I needed help with turning it over, squaring it, attaching the table, and lifting it upright. It does take at least 6 hours to put together. Take your time and follow the directions and you will be fine. There are videos available for each step also. For the price, it is a very nice piece of furniture. Very sturdy. The back is thin cardboard like all Sauder products, but that makes it easier to assemble the armoire. One change in the assembly I recommend is to install the lower pull-out shelf before installing the table leg and table. The directions tell you to to assemble it afterwards and then you need to crawl under the table to put in the shelf.Overall, I am super happy with the purchase!! So happy to have all my sewing and craft items in one place, organized, and out of sight when I am not crafting!
