Apex 3-Stage Whole House 20-Inch Big Blue Water Filtration System w/ Sediment and Carbon Block , Iron & Hydrogen Sulfide Reducing Filter – KDF 85 MR-3030

I purchased an old house this past April and the water was severely discolored and tasted nasty from day 1.I had a new water heater installed, called the city, had water samples taken to test the water quality, and my water still looked and tasted gross. The city said my water was safe for drinking although I had higher than normal iron in my water. And that's all the help they offered me.I finally decided to purchase the best whole house water filter system I could find, which ended up being this Apex System.It took me a while to find a plumber who would install it, but now that it's installed I can see an immediately difference in the look and taste of my cold water. I have to drain the water heater to get all the iron residue out before I see an improvement in my hot water and I'm doing that this weekend.I am so happy with my purchase! My plumber said I have a Starbucks quality water filtration system. 😃Update: April 2020I changed my filters for the first time. It's been about six months since I had the whole house water filter installed.This thing works well. My water is city water is so gross. I was hoping to go a year before changing the filters but my water badger discolored right at the 6 month mark and I see why. Check out how gross the filters are in the attached pictures.I'm so happy I bought this water filter.The city really needs to get their act together and do something about the pipes the water has to travel through because this is disgusting.

Works great for my rusty well water but the filter replacement process is rough and trouble shooting help is difficult to obtain. After you turn to water off, you have to hold down a small red button "until water stops squirting out." My finger started hurting after a minute. It took almost 20 minutes for water to stop. Mine is mounted to the back of a wire rack so I was able to wedge a rock between the button and the wire shelf. Unscrewing the blue filter containers was easy but re-threading them on was not. With new dry filters they are fairly heavy. Holding them up and getting the threads to line up was a chore. When I changed my filters the first time the water came out purple. There are no trouble shooting pages and Apex is not answering the phone at 3pm.

I purchased this 3 stage whole house filter in 2015, was pretty happy with it, keep the filters replaced every 6 months for the past 4 years, recently I am moving to another house and decided to take the system to the new house, so i took a part the big blue case, and i saw some rust on the housing cap. Upon further investigation, i found out that the 2 nipples that connects the 3 filters are all very rusty, and in a disgusting rotten state. I think they are cheaply made so they don't last very long. A word of advice, don't buy this multi-stage filters, buy single filter and interconnect yourself, this way you can ensure the quality of all the piping. I am replacing the 2 nipples, hopefully the housing will last me a few more good years.

This was best purchase ever. Water smelled like methane, and it was staining sinks and shower. Got this installed and water does not smell anymore and stains are going away. Highly recommend this product.

We had high iron so I put this in, seems our water feels softer even though it doesn’t test softer, but the iron is down considerably! Happy about that, think Inwill let my Culligan water go.My concern is I think cheaper systems would do just as well, and changing the filters get water everywhereHowever having a child wh9 has been sick for over 10 years... it is all worth it! The replacement filters are very pricey, I found others cheaper. Shop around.

Gauges does not come with it, also i am missing a small bolt and rubber o-ring on the red pressure valve on the top. I guess i will have go to town to find one that will fit. the other two fell out in the box i have them, but i am missing one.

What a great system. We were able to notice the difference in the quality of our water almost immediately. Now we have good clean,safe water from every faucet. The installation was a breeze. We also added a 3/4 hp preasure pump, which makes the showers have more preasure. Excellent product, I highly recommend this product.

This works great--we thought about it after we bought the house. It turns out it a wise decision. I actually researched various filtration systems and this was the one I chose based on quality and price.
