My favourite watercolour book
The media could not be loaded. I’ve bought a lot of watercolour books recently and this one is my favourite by far. I love the loose style the author uses. There are exercises for beginners at the beginning followed by exercises for more advanced artists. In this section the author covers a multitude of different leaves, herbs and flowers and follows with a section containing 10 projects all of which are simply stunning and I can’t wait to start painting some of them. As if that wasn’t enough there’s a chapter at the end which is a floral library which is water colour leaves, trees, cacti and flowers that can be used for inspiration. There are a series of videos on YouTube but I haven’t checked these out yet. This book offers so much in terms of content, it caters for different levels and the designs are simply stunning. The only thing I really wish that the author had given the actual colour names of the paints she has used and I nearly gave the book 4 stars because of that but in the end I gave it five because I love it.

Great book
What a fantastic book. Really well put together and a great base to learn from teaching you basic techniques in an easy way to understand. There are also four free postcards which are lovely. Yes there are videos within the book which are accessed through a qr code easily. Buy it. It’s lovely.

A good beginner book.
This is ideal as a first steps book for watercolour - if you bought it with a student paint palette it would be great. Initially I wondered if it was almost too basic but it is actually a very good introduction to modern botanical watercolours in the European style. I like it very much and would recommend as a beginner book.

Beautiful book with a range of easy to follow design instructions
The media could not be loaded. Beautiful book with a range of easy to follow design instructions.Do be aware the videos you can access with the book aren’t in English (guessing from what YouTube says it’s German) there are English subtitles as visuals but not easy to follow while trying to paint.Book itself is fanatics though and I guess the video are meant to be a added bonus.
