Great tire
Tires came promptly, within a couple days. They were labeled "Made in the USA." I was initially skeptical of them. They seemed too short, only measuring 22-23" tall. I thought they may be blems or fake Carlisles. I mounted them on 8.5x12 rims on a Deere x724. I measured them, with a straight edge across both, while inflated. My worries were dispelled. They were a full 25" tall and 11" wide. I bought them to replace some 6 ply ATV tires that I had previously installed on the tractor. I am very pleased with them. They ride well and add stability to the tractor. While on slopes, I used less steering wheel to keep the tractor straight. On flat ground they have good flotation and don't line the grass like the ATV tires did.

Finally! Someone knows how to ship tires without crushing them making mounting difficult.
I'm not writing about the tires. They're lawn tractor tires. I'm sure they'll last longer than the lawn mower. But I received these neatly bundled in one cylindrical shape and after leaving them in the sun to warm up, they were relatively easy to mount and bead. It took about an hour to get both old tires dismounted and new ones remounted.Thank you person in the shipping department for sending the tires to me in a cylinder shape instead of a crushed mess because it saves a dollar on shipping. The last lawn tractor tires I mounted required exploding them onto the rim with ether which is rather dangerous and unnecessary if they're shipped by a normal person and not a deranged orangutan. Thank you thank you thank you.I have a Cub Cadet GT 3235 and they're much larger than the 24" tires that were on there before, but they fit just fine.

8 Ply - Rugged Tire, Tough to Install
I bought these to replace tires on my Grasshopper mower. 18-8.50-8 size. After 15 years of zero turning, the inside of the tires were shredded. Since the originals lasted as long as they did, I choose to go with the same brand. Fortunately for me and maybe unfortunately for the poor guy at Wal Mart, I purchased 8 ply instead of the original 4 ply (more is better right?). The tires came right away (i love amazon prime) so I set out to replace the tires. I removed my old 4 ply tires as I have done a few times before to repair flats, but when I went to install the new 8 ply it was immediately obvious that the equipment in my garage was not going to get me there installing the 8 ply tire. So a call and a quick trip to Wal Mart tire shop. The guy offered to install the tire as a courtesy, but 45 minutes later he was still trying to get the tire on. He finally succeeded, but bottom line is that if you up the ply rating especially to the 8 ply, you are going to need professional equipment to install the tire as the 8 ply bead and tire are SIGNIFICANTLY thicker and stiffer than the 4 ply. On the plus side, I haven't had a single flat this mowing season. The only downside on these tires, which I'm not going to knock a star off for, is that the corners are a bit sharper than my old tires and will dig in during a turn if I am not careful. I can't help but think that if I had ordered the 4 ply, that the corners would have been about the same roundness as the old tire.

8 Ply Tire is heavy duty. Verify part number when ordering. Not everyone needs 8 ply, but some do.
These fit the bill for a John Deere 420 with a front end loader. This review are for the 8 ply tires. Verify the Carlisle part number when ordering. A garden tractor or other machine not needing the extra capacity should order the 4 ply tires as these would be a waste. The 8 ply tires came via UPS and we're not crushed or folded in on themselves like many shipped tires. It a good thing too, the shear weight, ridgidness and thickness of these tires made them a chore to mount on the rims. If they had come collapsed or folded they would have been impossible to mount in my estimation. Eat your wheaties and have plenty of tire lube on hand before mounting them. The bead set with little problem once they were on the rim. Performance has been as expected for a high quality, extra weight capacity small implement tire.
