the plastic is thicker than garbage bags and it has a hole catch for the ...
I only came to write this review because some of the bags did catch SOME air after about three/four weeks of being packed.... not completely inflating back up but maybe because the bags were in a box so they couldn't inflate as big as they wanted to. I filled an extra bag I had today and I could really hear the air rushing in the bag the minute the vacuum turned off.Honestly the only reason these things sell is because of the name ziploc... the plastic is thicker than garbage bags and it has a hole catch for the vacuum but honestly a garbage bag and vacuum does the same thing ... at least you know your garbage bag doesn't have holes in it. I'm a DYI girl so if you're cool with using clear or black garbage bags, I suggest you save your money. I bought this for long term storage so If I have to worry that Over the winter my summer clothes are going to explode out.... I rather use my $5.00 box of garbage bags.Besides what's the point of paying for bulk if one or two or a few of them is damaged? And with garbage bags... there really isn't a limit of how much you can fill.... you can pack horizontally like the ziploc bag or up like it's stacked...as long as you can tie it when youre done right? The pics say fits 10 sweaters. Ten baby sweaters? Lol.Attached is my fathers 10 high quality wool winter sweaters in a garbage bag size xl or xxl and the ziploc large bag has my 6 size s/m sweaters and is filing back up with air as I type this.If you're worried clear bags might be too thin... double it after you finish sucking the air out from the first bag.... still much cheaper and how many bags can you pack vs. the set number of bags ziploc gives you.I think I'm going to stick with garbage bags for my move. Hope this review helps

Perfect for large family vacation car packing
As a large family, road trips become a challenging packing experience. Even in a large car the amount of space is limited. We use these every year when packaging our clothes on road trips and vacations. During the rest of the year we use the bags to store blankets, sheets, off season clothes, etc. The only reason I do no give this a 5 star rating is because we have experienced a few of the bags developing small holes that let air in making the bags unusable. It appears to me that it's a low failure rate but still a quality problem.

The variety pack was great for me because it includes the travel bags (you don't need a vacuum for these) as well as medium and large bags. The travel bags are great for condensing your winter clothes to fit into your carry-on, or great to pack at the bottom of your bag if you are planning on shopping for a few items for your closet during a trip and want to be able to up your bag on your way home!I move frequently to different climates, so the medium and large sizes are helpful for packing up seasonal items that I may not use when living in a certain part of the country. My husband also loves them for deployments so he can fit all of his bedding and uniforms in his suitcases.

They'd probably do better as long term storage for things you won't be ...
It was amazement at first use! But then I noticed that some of the bags have lost their ability to keep air out after a few times of opening and closing. They'd probably do better as long term storage for things you won't be using for a while. I got them to space save in a small nyc apt so I'm currently opening and resealing them a couple times a month. One of the bags seal ripped right off when opening it, making it totally unusable. I ordered the SpaceMax bags after which seem to be holding air out much better. Overall I like the variety of bag sizes. I recently used the travel sized bags for a trip and have to say, I won't be packing any suitcases in the future without them!

Perfect seal, easy to use!
Great product. I bought these to store bedding while we move, and didn't want the pricier items to be open to bugs in a storage unit. I was surprised at how much air was able to be sucked out of the bags. Most bags have a white valve that you open and use a vacuum to suck the air out. Then there are smaller "suitcase" bags that require you to manually squeeze out the air through a one way vent. Both versions were fantastic, and now i'm hooked! I will definitely buy more for other items that need to be stored.

Good quality bags
Good quality bags. The MEDIUM size is perfect for one blanket and one pillow. The TRAVEL size are silly -- a strong plastic bag that I am supposed squish to get the air out as I seal it. Sure it works, but I do the same thing with 2 gallon freezer bags.I'm glad to have the assorted sizes of "real" space bags, which I use frequently. These are good ones.

Bring life back to your closet!
I love these so much! My closet has so much more room now that I have used these bags for seasonal clothes! My large bulky coats are stored away perfectly in one of these bags which was a huge lifesaver! One box worked for mine and my husbands closet but if you are storing away bedding and additional closets I would highly recommend getting 2. I have blabbed on and on about these bags all of my friends are getting them!

I like the amount I got for what I paid
I like the amount I got for what I paid, definitely worth that much. I was also able to pack a lot in it, but a few months after packing the bags I noticed that they were no longer tight, like air had gotten into them. It did help in storage for a while, but not as high quality as I wanted.
