The Supermarine Spitfire is a single-seat fighter aircraft used by the RAF and many Allied countries during World War II. It had distinctive elliptical wings with the thinnest possible cross-section, which enabled it to travel at speeds that exceeded those of other aircrafts of its time. It gained prominence along with the Hawker Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain and was used extensively as a fighter-interceptor, reconnaissance, fighter-bomber and trainer, and it continued to serve these roles until the 1950's. This model is approximately 4.5 inches in length and has a 3.75 inch wingspan.

Maybe the best plane in the Postage Stamp line.
There is a lot of detail to this plane. The Postage Stamp Collection makes exceptional models. This plane is one of their best. In addition to the extra detail, there is so much color.Given the historical significance of the Spitfire and the extra attention spent in producing a quality model, this plane belongs in everybody's collection. The stand..... It is what it is ......

Well made model with accurate details
I really like these little models, they are well made and look great. My only complaint is the flimsy plastic stands. They break too easily and can't be replaced.

Great addition to my collection
This little plane is heavy. Appears to be well built.
