Clear, concise and fun!
This is a fast read that is loaded with practical tips that are easy to follow - I finished it in one seating! Unlike other management books that can be dry and boring, this is a lively and fast-paced read. I found Ms. Murray's advice to be easy to follow and her framing of complex problems made them pretty relatable. As it is, I'm starting my day with her advice of the Zorro Circle, and I already feel much better because I know that goals will be met in a timely manner. Most importantly, I can parlay being me into an effective leader for my team. I can be authentic while furthering their development and I can empower others to reach their full potential. I know that sounds hokey, but it's what I want to do for my direct reports, they're such a talented bunch and I want to see them succeed not just in projects, but in their career. This book will help me achieve that.

Very good, quick read...
Easy to read and understand. Great pieces of advice for managers, new and old. There were a few times that I wished for more details. I recommend it to anyone in any low-level management position.

"It takes bravery to be who you really are, and that will earn you more respect than any title ever will."
It's my favorite line in the book! This is a great read for any manager, beginner or seasoned, who want to get a handle on things or just be reassured that they are doing a good job. With everything on your to-do list, this should be at the top (plus after reading it, your to-do list might not seem so daunting). It's in a conversational style making any information easy to digest like a friend giving me advice over a cup of coffee. There's a lot of insight and the examples are easy to connect with in any industry. I would recommend it to everyone!

Very helpful and easy to read
Great read! Wish I had this book when I came up through the management ranks. It would have saved me much stress, anxiety, and torment. My favorite lesson was #2 --" 'Um, What Did I Do Today?' Is Normal". It gives you permission to do management tasks like planning, motivating, organizing, etc. and not get bogged down in the trenches with the “crisis-of-the-day”. I gave this 5 stars because it is well written, has excellent examples, and the price is right. Recommend for current managers and those who are about to become managers.

A MUST READ, honest, direct and highly entertaining
I've read a stack of "how to" and "self-improvement" books in the past but This book tops it all. If I could give it more than five stars, I would--because the author really gives it to you directly without a tone of arrogance. Her examples are very entertaining as if I am in the room with her watching them as it happen. My favorite part: #6 "Would You Respect You?" If all managers were like her, IMO, everyone will look forward to going to work everyday. I highly recommend this book to all managers.

Every Manager Should Read This--Young, First-Time or Otherwise
Concise, to the point and entertaining, this is a great guide for managers at any level who need a reminder or two about the foundations of their task and responsibility to their staff members. A relatively new manager myself, this book gave me useful and actionable tips and strategies for empowering my staff to be their most productive---and happy. Thank you, Tamara, for giving me a guide to do my job better!

It's ok...
I bought this book but was a little suprised at how little was in it and the overall quality of it. Not as I expected but not to say the content isn't valuable, just not a lot of content...
