Best electric fillet knife I've ever used

Bought this as a replacement for my old American Angler electric filet knife. It just wore out after 15 years of heavy use. Used this one for the first time last week and cleaned up two limits of yellow perch in no time. Love the long narrow blade for slicing the filet's off the backbone and the variety of knives make it easy to pick the right one for the job. I would recommend this kit for anyone that catches and cleans a lot of fish. Let's hope this one holds out as long as my original.

Handle needs a re-vamp! This knife is not very comfortable in your hand. It does a good job and comes with a lot of blades, which is great. You can even buy replacement blades for it, but it is a beast to hold on to, even for big hands! My boyfriend is 6'2" tall and has huge hands. The measurement from my the base of my palm where it meets my wrist to the tip of my middle finger is 7 1/4 inches. His hands are bigger than mine and he stated the knife was much bigger than what we're used to using. The design of the handle makes it a little awkward to hold, especially when you're filleting a lot of fish. When I tried using it, my wrist tired very quickly. The last time we filleted salt water fish, I used our old Black & Decker electric knife. My dad and I went through about 100 fish and while my hands were freezing, my wrist didn't get tired holding the smaller handled knife. This knife did a better job filleting the meat from the bone line, but the old Black & Decker did a better job filleting the meat from the skin. If the handle were a little more ergonomically designed, I'd give this knife 5 stars. If you want a knife that does a good job and you have huge hands, this might work well for you. If you have tiny hands, you might want to get a smaller knife.

This was recommended to me by a friend. I decided to give it a chance and upgrade from my current electric filet knife I had been using. It was like switching from a jack hammer to a precision instrument. Very smooth, fast, clean cuts. Comfortable and much easier to use than my other model I had been using. So far I have used it to clean crappie, walleye, and saugeye. Can't wait to try this on some of those big boned salt water fish that were always so tough.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on knives to filet my husbands many catches from fresh water to salt water and this knife is far better than any and all purchases combined. The video they showed is real!! The knife cuts that easily but you have to make sure you have the blades locked in place. The various blades that are included are great blades that help filet different types and size of fish.

This knife is excellent. All five of us bought them after we tried them out. We fillet mostly crappie and bluegill, and an occasional cat fish, so please no questions about filleting sail fish, great whites or whales. I also purchased a second knife for the home to slice ham, roast and poultry. I still have the Mr. Twister that is a good knife for the price and have used them for years, so if money is tight, Mr. T is still a good option. I am a fishing guide. There are 7 other guides at the marina where I work and we all use these knives. We love them. We clean 30-80 Striped Bass every day per guide and these knifes are the only ones we've found that last long term. I go through one every couple of years. There is a secret to making you knife last a long time and it is..........new blades!!! If your blades get dull, the knife must be pushed to cut. The blades for this knife are higher than most other brands but you get what you pay for. We change our blades out at least once a week. I tried the Titanium version but didnt see any difference except the price.
