Metal EarthFascinations Leaning Tower of Pisa 3D Metal Model Kit

The Leaning Tower of Pisa was probably my 20th MetalEarth 3D model I built and the curves and circles made this a difficult, yet fun challenge to build. The railing parts were very flimsy and delicate, which made the curve less perfect, but once the tabs are in place you can bend them for a better fit. The main core of the model was very sturdy and was on of the most rigid models I have built to date.A tip for this model is to match all the seams so they all line up in a single line. Figure out which side you want displayed and place this seam in the back. Plan ahead for this part and do not bend or twist the tabs until you have figured this placement. It's a pain to undo the tabs once they are twisted or bent.

Not that difficult to build; but a bit difficult to build WELL.The floors are built one at a time, then stacked on top of each other. The pins that hold the lower walls to the upper floor, and the upper walls to that same floor, insert at the same circular distance out. That description may not make sense until you actually build the Tower, but what it means is you have parts fighting for space, and the result is that it is difficult to put it together wellThe outer guard rails make the tower look fantastic; but you have to be VERY CAREFUL in pre-shaping them (I used AA and AAA batteries to roll the shapes), else they won't come out looking wellI take 3 stars away for difficulty and the parts fit issue, and give one back because of subject. This is a model of the Leaning Tower!!!

Something's wrong with this Tower of Pisa model kit! I carefully followed instructions (yes, having the cool little tool set would have helped). I painstakingly attached each part as the diagram showed, building on top of each other, twisting and folding the tabs as needed. Pretty tower, great little details! I was happy with how it was progressing. But when I assembled it onto the base, I knew it was flawed. It doesn't stand straight. It's leaning.You know you read all the way through just for that even though you knew it was coming.

Beautiful Model. I truly enjoyed building this one. Use a Screw Drivers hand to bend the Metal Pieces in perfect circles for each floor. Along with theFascinations Metal Earth Eiffel Tower 3D - its my favorite. Others models while beautiful are a bit challenging and some times frustrating, but I guess its part of the experience and fun. If you want to start with a Model, let this be the one.

I got it when expected but it was a little bent when I got it. Had to try and straighten it out before I could make it. Should've had "do not bend" written on it so postal workers handle it better.

I gave this to my nephew who really had fun building this. However, he is only 9 and the project was recommended for an older child (14+?), so he required a lot of help. But I wanted to buy if for him as a way to remember his trip to Italy. It's not one of those kid projects you would just want to toss after a while. It's such a beautiful piece worth saving and can be proud of. And at a great price!

This is my 5th model.This model driven me crazy because it is pretty hard and it's not fun as it seems.The thing is I do not really like to bend metal into a prefect circle. However, this model is entire in cirle.It is hard. Real hard. I have already built 16 models and I still think this is the hardest one.

Fun little puzzle. Make sure you have a small pair of needle nose pliers. Makes everything clean and easy.
