An All Time Favorite
Cleanly printed in a nice large format (which even with my poor eyesight, I can read well), this is my second copy of Twenty Studies after my original literally crumbled to dust. Every classical (and probably all finger-picking) guitarists should learn at least some of these pieces. Each of the 20 brilliant compositions emphasizes a specific technique (e.g. arpeggios, chords, rest stroke, etc.) making them ideal for practice. But, unlike many other studies, each is also a beautiful piece of performance quality music. You must read standard notation -- no tabs -- but, hey, that's just an opportunity to practice sight reading. (Fingerings in the score will at least help resolve many ambiguities.) Also you can't beat the price -- only 50 cents per song! Fantastic collection. Glad I got a fresh copy -- who knows how long paper editions of books like this will remain available!

A must have for serious classical guitarists of all levels
This is by far a fantastic book. If you are not at reading standard notations, find the ones with TABs. Classical guitar players even rock players will benefit from this book. If you are forced have only one book, this is it. Another thing is ditch your cheap classical guitars and buy something good (not easy to find good classical guitars) otherwise you will be able to play easier studies only.

so it its what it is - it's great; but
It's the 20 Segovia edited Sor Etudes, so it its what it is - it's great; but, the inside cover talks about "This book/audio edition provides..." and I didn't receive a recording with the book. I guess I didn't read what I was purchasing close enough. Or, I didn't know about an accompanying recording until I read the inside cover. Oh well, I'll look for online, now that I know. Other than that, I'm looking forward to working on these.

Welcome standard
I have ended up purchasing this three time in the last 30 years. I am glad to see it is still available and hope to be able to replace it if it wears out or I give it away again.

Nice book with confortable music size for reading
Nice printing with good size (not too large, but confortable). I like the feel of professionally edited and printed sheet music and this one is fine. It's nice to have both the original Sor's tempo indications and Segovia's one too. My only complaint is that some studies have been placed so that you have to turn the page in the middle of the music and I've already seen other possibilities with these that prevent this.

Must have
The Sor studies edited by a master. A real value and a must have.

Great collection, excellent fingerings too
This is a fantastic compilation of great sounding and musical studies. The fingerings and dynamic markings are very instructive and useful. And overall, the studies are very enjoyable to play and make you want to practice.

Book review
Great book for the intermediate guitarists. Also, good for more advanced players as exercises or for playing for personal pleasure. The studies in the book are in order of difficulty from 1-20. They include good finger markings but there are no dynamic markings.I would strong recommend that people do not buy this book unless they can read standard notation to a reasonable level because reading can get difficult at times plus there is no tab included,Alan
