Nice little pocket size gauge. Very handy and accurate.

There are loads of these gauges on the market, so it's kind of hard to choose.What makes this Eapele stand out is the double-sided printing.

This is clearly a practical gauge for new welding students to get used to getting the best welder settings to match the thickness of the plate. I mark is down a bit on accuracy as I did check the slots against my machinist go/no-go gauges and found each of the slots to be slightly narrower than indicated. This is no big deal as the dimensions are so close as to not matter. An experienced welder can normally tell just be looking what the thickness is and can get work confidently. For a new student, this device is simple and inexpensive. This gauge is very close, but if they try to get an 1/8" plate into the matching slot, it almost, but not quite fits. It will be easy to realize the size is close enough to work with. Clearly, the slots are stamped out, not machined. But for students, this is perfect. They will appreciate the low price and the functionality.

The thickness gauge is exactly as described. It's better quality than others available. The numbers and letters are both etched and painted, so much easier to read. And I find it handy that it's etched/printed on both sides. Not a huge deal, but why not get the best for just a little more.

Bought this to stop guessing or having to bring out calipers

Affordable, easy to use, easy to read. I didn't measure the slots with a micrometer because my needs are minimal. It does the job and doesn't break the bank.

I never thought it would be so useful. About how reliable it is, the measurements are quite accurate.

This is just what I wanted for my keys. My Hobart metal gauge is almost the same, but wider. I like the slimmer profile of this one.I also like that this one is easier to read than my Hobart gauge.Helpful when walking through the steelyard looking at metal or when you're setting up your metal at home for fabrication.
