Good starter book but not a complete guide as title suggests.
Bought this book thinking it would be more of a "complete guide" as the title suggests. Not really a complete anything or a guide. While there are some very pretty photos for inspiration in it, on several points the book fails to explain the "whys and hows" of actually doing this type of photography. It did have some basics on working with clients and a few pointers for different poses for various body shapes, but beyond those not a lot of guided information. I was looking for more information about setting flashes up, ideas for poses, props, and background scenery beyond just laying on a hotel bed. It was ok, not a bad book, just not the "complete guide" to the subject at hand.

Nothing new to read about.
Nothing new about boudoir photography that you can find in other similar books. The models used here are not a cross section of different types of women in the real world and I am sorry to say that the quality of the photos look like typical snap shots nothing extraordinary or creative. The images does not provoke the sensuality of what boudoir photography is all about. This book however will be appreciated better by those beginning in glamour photography.

Extremely helpful and easy to read
I bought this to follow my dream and have to say this is filled with lots of helpful tips and points to think on. It is very easy to read, and to follow. The author also points you toward resources to further understand what she's talking about and to help you find ideas. Best book on the topic I've read so far. I've had bad photography teachers and I've had good ones. This author knows the topic, and how to convey it well.

Good book
My wife wanted me to take some boudoir photos of her for fun, since my hobby is photography. We found that we needed more ideas on poses and stuff. so I bought a few boudoir books to get ideas. This one was one of the best ones we bought. Full of good information, nice pictures, and poses.

WUH OWWWWWWWWWW ZA!!!!!
I seriously cannot believe how much "bang" you get for your buck with this book. Not only is pretty much every single boudoir option covered, but there are also business tips, sample releases, re-touching tips and tons of other great information. The imagery is all very tastefully presented making the subjects look beautiful and sexy not trashy. The author even includes tips for how to deal with different figures/body shapes and teaches you how to use other things in your shots besides beds like doorways, windows, walls and the like.I'm still completely dumbfounded at how cheap a book that offers this much information and resources is; without a doubt, one of the best purchases I've made all year! If you have even considered taking boudoir shots whether you are behind the lens or in front of it, this book can teach you a thing or five!

Accurate and disappointed
The complete guide to shooting Intimate portraits is the tagline. Unfortunately I thought it was a 1980s style book in a modern sleeve. Some of the poses were not pleasing to the eye, simple changes would make the poses far better. There wasnt any real advice on lighting or set up which I would have expected from the tagline. OK a couple references to 'natural light' or 'used a softbox'.I would say this book is reasonable for the newbie photographer, but for more experienced I would say it was not inspirational or useful.

Nice, artistic book on the subject
This is a really good book on the subject of 'Boudoir' photography. The genre is sensitive, and should be handled as such. If done well, the images will be beautiful. This ideas and information in this book will be of great help.

For beginners only.
A very basic guide. You'd have to really be a beginner and know precious little about photography to learn anything here.
