I like this bike. Good Value. Fun.
I'm no snooty "bike guy". Just a recent retiree looking for exercise so my comments are in that context.* It's a big framed bike. Be aware of the 30.5" stand over height and large 700c wheels. Medium to tall adults only I think. I’m 5ft- 10 in and I feel it’s as big as I can handle.* It's light due to the aluminum frame. Has a steel front fork.* It came mostly assembled with only a few adjustments necessary.* Seat was a bit small and hard as they tend to be from the factory. I've already replaced with a larger cruiser type gel seat.* To get comfortable upright position I raised seat and replaced handlebar with a 5" rise version. Ahhhhhhhh Nice.* The SureStop single lever braking system is clever and designed to insure rear brake is applied first. It applies rear then front progressively.* Didn’t need fenders here in Nevada so Avondale was a good choice for me.* Chose the 21 speed (gear ratios) capability because of the hilly terrain here locally.* Hybrid is a good choice for me. Tires good for pavement but also capable on smooth paths etc.* Don't let the bad reviews stop you. I suspect most are due to poor adjustments, poor assembly techniques. If you're not comfortable with tools let a bike shop put it together properly.UPDATE 6-9-16: I'm really enjoying the bike now after some earlier problems climbing the many hills in my Nevada neighborhood. The solution for me was to add an e-bike kit which uses a small, electric, hub motor on the front wheel. This motor comes ready to use as a complete front wheel assembly and has now allowed me to tour the area with just enough "boost" to make it fun while still peddling for exercise. This Kent bike does have a mostly aluminum frame but, thankfully, has a steel front fork which is recommended for many e-bike conversions.I also like this bike because it came with a SureStop brake set-up which has proven to be a nice safety feature. As a former development engineer I'm impressed with the SureStop brake technology. The inventors recognized a long-standing problem with typical bicycle brakes and used innovative design to solve the problem. The technology works. I know because I recently had someone step right in front of my bike as I was traveling downhill at about 25-30 mph. My bike stopped quickly, safely, and without any tendency to pitch forward. The SureStop applies the rear brake first and then the front brake. All bikes should have this safety feature.

For the money
5 stars for a bike at this price. I did fight the handle bar adjustment that was tighten and glued in with loctite at the factory (I am taller and wanted to sit more upright than the factory preset) and the rear wheel axle was loose and needed to be tightened, other than that the. Ike went together easily. The odd break system set up works well, odd to me anyway since I am used to having two levers. I have logged around 20 miles so far, no issues shifts and rides well. Like most bikes the factory seat is ok for short rides but I will replace it with something more comfortable. If this bike holds up well it really is an amazing deal for $200.

It was pretty bad. The chain would fall off or run ...
I got this bike for very cheap - $83 from warehouse deals. For the price I paid it's hard to complain too much as it does what I need it to. It gets me from point A to point B on small commuting bike rides. I wasn't looking for a bike to take me on long rides - most of my rides are 1-2 miles. Some issues with the bike out of the box for me:- Brakes were completely messed up. Had to spend a lot of time learning how to adjust them myself- Gear shifting needed heavy adjustment. It was pretty bad. The chain would fall off or run on the gear changing mechanisms and make terrible noises.- Handlebars were assembled incorrectly and had to take them apart and fix themNow all these things could be done at a bike shop with a tune up but all the bike shops around here wanted $90-$100 for a tune up which didn't make a lot of sense on such a cheap bike so I learned how to do them myself.Overall I am happy with my purchase because I paid so little for the bike and it gets the job done. I just wanted to make people aware what they're buying and if you want something that just works well out of the box, this is not going to be it.

Great bike even for a 6' man with a bad ...
Lighter than expected .Pick it up with 2 fingers ,all aluminum. Seat is a little hard but nothing a $18 Bell memory foam seat (also on Amazon) didn't fix. Great bike even for a 6' man with a bad back , sitting straight and comfortable.Adjustable gooseneck on the handlebars makes a big difference for tall riders 6' and even taller.

Great ride, great new brake system!
I am so happy with this bike! After about 45 minutes of putting it together, I had it up and running and have been taking it on the bike paths near my house nearly every morning for exercise (my new years resolution). The bike is light, well built, and easy to ride and control. I feel like I got a wonderful bargin on this bike for the price. SureStop brake system is so neat and very clever - it does the rear brake first then adds in some front brake in automatically, so you can stop better and avoid mistakes and crashes. It works great, just feels like effortless control is there when you need to stop. This bike definitely gets 5 stars for the amount of cool features and quality construction for the price.

problem with chain
Received the bike a day early. Minimum damage to box. Due to all of the plastic covers that protect axles etc were not on... Simple installation of the seat, bars, and wheel, after removing the brake pads. Biggest problem was the chain had come off the pedal sprocket and was jam tight between the sprocket and frame. Took 20 minutes to get it free, all with the hopes I didn't damage the chain trying to pry and beat it loose. The ride and shifting are excellent. Seat is like a piece of wood.really need to replace it.The 2 wheel ABS, " brakes for dummies", needs to getting used to. After 45 years of Motorcycle riding, on and off road, always was taught front brake to stop, rear to control the stop..
