This is an amazing story! Absolutely love it.
A wedding, closure, acceptance, truth... they all come to light. The story ends on a bittersweet note, but with the hope & promise of good things to come. I really enjoyed reading this series. Like so many fantastic manga, it was too short! I could have continued to read about these characters for another 8 - 12 volumes. Both the wedding scene & the final hospital scene brought tears to my eyes. Joy for the 1st, sorrow for the latter. Such a good story. Very inspiring for people of the LGBTQ + community, also gives great insight to what those people struggle with. They don't need pity. They don't need a hand up. They just need respect, decency, & dignity. They deserve to be loved. Everyone deserves to be loved. Even though I'm very pro-LGBTQ+, I am straight, so even though I have many gay/trans friends, 1st & foremost being my little buddy, my bff of 32 years, I don't fully understand what it means to be gay. My bff is very openly gay, wears women's blouses, pants, & shoes, & occasionally does drag. I've been by his side for the good & the bad. I've learned so much about the LGTBQ+ community just by being his friend. However, since I am in fact straight, I can never fully understand what it means to be LGBTQ+. I'm on the outside looking in. Or better yet, I'm in the room, but I'm sitting in a corner. I think if more people took the time to read stories like this, there would be a lot less hate & a lot more acceptance in the world. And in the end, isn't that what matters? Like I said, everyone deserves to be loved. Art, impeccable. Dialogue, very good, very real. Characters, believable, likeable, loveable, & admirable.

The best conclusions to my favorite manga series.
Our dreams at dusk is one of the best lgbtqai+ books I have read because you can tell the person writing is trying to write a story and not just chicatures of lgbtqai+ people while also having no understanding that we're still people. And the story they do talk about, is something I think is important. Because it talks about the issues about being a queer person living in Japan (in a way that you could apply it to the same issues happening in the U.S. or anywhere for that matter). And the way they talk about it, is so realistic. It doesn't give a completly sugar coated ending, but it isn't just down right depressing. It finds the perfect balance and it's done wonderfully. Also, the message isn't beaten over your head, it's shown from the charecters interactions and extremely natural dialog. Highly recommend this series and wish you a good day.

a worthy finale for a beautiful series
All good things must come to the end, but this final volume is a worthy end to Our Dreams at Dusk. We learn Tchaiko-san and Someone-san's stories. There's a celebration of new lives together and a fond farewell to a life well lived. Tasuku takes a big step forward in asserting himself and even Misora and Tsubaki get some closure (though their story lines are both more of a "questioning" path, so there's no firm answers for them.)Even though volume 3 is my favorite, this volume is the most emotional for me. Be prepared to cry, though there's a decent chance it will be happy tears instead of sad tears. To the very end, Kamatani's art is gorgeous and the themes are nuanced and compelling.I really hope we get to see more of their work translated into English soon. In the meantime, their debut series Nabari no Ou is available in English and I encourage people to check it out. It's not nearly as polished as ODAD (it was their first serialized work) but the story and characters have a lot of heart -- even a decade later, it remains one of my all time favorite manga.

Love this book series!
Book arrived in great condition. I've read another work by this author, and I really enjoyed this series, too. Highly recommend for anyone who is or has a friend who is grappling with their queer awakening/identity.

Perfect ending to a great manga.
This series is so raw and realistic.I have never related to a manga as much as I did with this one.The ending wouldn’t be satisfying if you came for a rom, but the ending was beautiful otherwise.Everyones relationship is so real.

Great and realistic LGBT manga (I'll put this review for the other 3 books that I also purchased)
It's a wonderful manga series with good LGBT character depictions. The art is really pretty and I like it alot and story is good. My only complaint is how short it is (4 volumes only) and you can knock them out in a few hours. The characters go through struggles LGBT in real life would face like acceptance of loved ones, bulllying and shaming, and discrimination but it also shows how these characters form their own community called the Lounge where they can be themselves. Good ending I'll say but good doesn't mean it's a happy or sad ending so I'm just telling you it's good
