Works as described
This is my go to for lifting with bonding treatment. definitely use the recommended amount of developer from the same brand, because of the added peptides. Buy the after bleach treatment too

It really strips the color from hair
I'd never used this product before. It takes 55 minutes. It feels like bubbles on your head when activated I did a hair swatch time. It took 50 min. U need a good conditioner. It does dry the hair out. I would use it again.

Didn’t lift much and fried hair
I have dark brown hair that I have been coloring for years using this brand. Last year, I’ve only colored my roots for grays, which I have about 10% grays. The dye from this brand is outstanding and lasts so much longer than any store or salon brand. It also cover stubborn grays wonderfully! With the above being said, I decided I wanted to lighten up a few shades for summer. Looking to get to a medium brown, so nothing dramatic. So, I ordered this lifter and bought the recommended developer to go with it. I followed the directions online to the letter since the instructions in the box were not clear. In the end this lifted very-very little. No where 4 shades, let alone 2. It did make my roots blonde, but from roots down really no lift. It did fry my all my hair and lost a lot of hair, which I didn’t have problems with before. I also had very healthy hair since only dying roots, use no product nor apply heat to hair. Went to my salon and my stylist said it lifted only a half a shade and it wasn’t worth the damage and having to reduce my roots twice to match and cover blonde roots. For reference I did start using the lift product on the parts of my hair that wasn’t gray. I used the lift on my roots last because I know they would take faster.Perhaps this product doesn’t lift on previously dark color, but it doesn’t say that anywhere. I wouldn’t recommend this lift, but would recommend going to a salon or for gradual lift that I’ve experienced in the past, using a harsher shampoo like Head and Shoulders.

HLA Ash Blonde
OMGGG this stuff Is amazing! I wanted a alternative to bleach for my roots since bleaching Is more damaging ,more steps, and more money.I have very dark blonde roots so I mixed the high lift with 40 vol left It on for 15-20 minutes and washed It out.My hair feels soft and matches exactly to my ends It lifted perfectly!.If you are someone with a natural hair color that just needs to be lifted a couple levels check this out.And you don’t have to tone previously I would bleach my poor scalp then slap on a permanent color toner which would damage my hair so much.Try this color you won’t regret It!!!!

Lifts a few levels, not sure about the color
The amount in the bottle is pretty small, I wouldn't get just one if you're trying to cover your full head. I only needed my roots touched up, and I ended up using probably 3/4 of the tube, though I did have some leftover in the bowl.I used this brand's 40vol developer as the instructions state. I had already bleached my roots from black to bronze yellow orange a couple of days prior with different t products. Since I'm doing it myself, the color is very patchy, and there was even still a patch of black I left behind the first round. I tried it over the black patch first, and after waiting the whole hour it turned about the same bronzy yellow as in my before color, which was surprising, as I feel like that's more than 4 levels. The other, already bronzy patches lifted maybe 1 or 2 levels, even after waiting an entire hour, burning feeling on my scalp and all.It says there's no bleach, but mixing with the developer still smelled very awful and burned my eyes a bit when I got to the hairs closest to my face. However, my roots don't feel crunchy or awful, they still feel soft and as normal as they were when they were my natural black, surprisingly. I'll still need to touch up the color a bit, and I'll use what tiny bit of this tube that I have left to try and get those patches as light as possible, maybe with 20vol nex time. The only thing I don't really get is the color. The cream comes out of the tube a cream color and over time it does seem to turn a purple shade, however I don't see any difference in the tone of my hair. The rest of my hair is a cool platinum blonde, basically white, that I achieved with an actual toner and developer, and this hair color tube doesn't really show anything indicating a violet color or any sort of cool tone at all; it's lighter in spots, but still noticeably yellow compared to the rest of my hair.

Be Careful
I've been a hairdresser over 30yrs so I feel very comfortable doing haircolor. I've used high lift color for years and I usually use HLN (neutral base) not HLV (violet base). Using violet & blue based colors help cut the gold & orangey colors when lightening darker shades but you have to be careful. I couldn't find HLN so I went with this one, I'm sorry I did 🙄 because my blonde hair isn't so blonde anymore, it looks more platinum but muddy looking, yuk!

Perfect!
I first got this at Sally’s but they told me they weren’t going to carry it anymore. Just by chance I checked Amazon and they had it! This bleach is unbelievable! Within 5 minutes it was already lighted. But you still need to leave it on for the full 45 minutes.
