Cool blocks!
I installed these blocks in both the upper guide and lower guide. I like the wear resistance of the light weight material they are made of. They really do seem to have a great advantage over the metal guides that the saw originally had. They obviously generate little or no heat as they contact the blade while scrolling. If everything is correct that you read about bandsaw design, this is a plus. Haven’t run a wide blade with these blocks yet, but if they work on an eighth inch blade I suspect they will prove to be amazing on a half or larger blade. I’m glad I purchased them. Price is right! If the small investment helps me with my saw, it’s more than worth changing to these guides.

Works!!
The Cool Blocks were easy to install. Did require two packages because the saw required two different shapes. Had to resize two of the blocks to fit the guide holders. Way better than metal guides heating the band saw blade thru friction. Lets see what i think of them a year from now.

great replacement on my 18" Jet
I have an 18" Jet gold series band saw that had these metal, wheels (not bearings) for blade guides..they were impossible because first, they were steel, second, they were huge, third they would get gummed up with saw dust and stop spinning. they had no bearings, basically they were just a flat disc that rode on a round bar. so once gummed up, all they did was ruin the blades. And also, the adjustments for them stuck out on the sides really far so if you were cutting some board stock at under 4 inches wide, you couldnt lower the blade guides down like you should because they would hit the rip fence. I ended up buying some brass slip in bearings that these cool blocks fit perfectly into with just a little force, then I put the brass bearings in my wood lathe and turned the OD down till they were just small enough to slide in and out of the old original guidewheel mounts, then I discarded the original guide wheels and adjustment knobs and drilled and tapped a hole for a set screw in the bottoms of the guide block holders. now I have gained at least 2 or 21/2 inches on the side against the fence and I dont need to worry about ruining good blades and the guide blocks are easy to adjust. nice!!!

Worked for old saw
Replaced old steel guides on 30yr bandsaw, I was rebuilding and seem to work fine. Wish they sold a kit with round and square guides for older saws.

Great product
Worked perfectly for me. Fit nicely in my Central Machine bandsaw lower guide bracket. Needed a square set for the upper guide.
