Westinghouse Lighting 03648 Corp 25-watt R14 Flood Light Bulb

It's so hard to find a decent lava lamp that works the way it's supposed to. I bought a new to replace my old one, as the bulb had broken off inside the socket. My intention was to throw the old one away. The new one doesn't flow the way it is supposed to, along with a myriad of other issues. I had been happy with my previous one, so I used pliers and was able to screen the remaining light out of the socket and then found this bulb replacement on Amazon. I felt it was a great price and the shipping was reasonable, everyone else wanted $5 for shipping what? I received this yesterday, it came shipped in a plastic bag wrapped with some bubble wrap. Bulb was intact and I have given my favorite lava lamp a new lease on life.

Westinghouse is a name brand, maybe that means something good? The hardest part was locating the right bulb number, there are 1000s to choose from . . many look the same in the photo, but I did it right and saved a lot of hassle doing it mail order. It took about 10 days to get it in my mailbox, but fortunately it wasn't an urgent item. I am more careful with my lamp and will not break this bulb like the other one. it seems to be not as hot as the one it replaced. Good for reading at night.

I too went to the internet to find replacement bulbs and was delighted to find bulbs way cheaper than what I was paying at Lowes. Unfortunately cheaper means less for your money. In this case, I paid about half what Lowes would charge and only got two or three hours of use out of each bulb. Certainly no value at all in purchasing cheaper bulbs. In my opinion these bulbs aren't worth $0.25 in the $1.00 store.Pay the Lowes price for quality bulbs.

For me, this light works as I hoped it would. I did not want a high intensity bulb for my china cabinet, I felt the light from one of those was too glaring because in my cabinet you can actually see part of the bulb. I just want some soft light to illuminate the inside of the cabinet. It's not a museum cabinet and it's not a cave. This is a personal taste issue and may not work for everyone.

Perfect fit and lasts. This fit my regular size larger lava lamp perfectly and will definitely go with this again in a few years when it burns out. Let's see how long it lasts, I'll update when it goes out. Update: It just burnt out. I left it a few days on, a couple days off but mostly on during the week, since, Oct 26, 2015.

I've had this bulb, just a little over 2 months. It's used in the indoor shed light, so it's hardly ever on. Just went to turn it in last night and it's already dead. Ugh!

light bulbs for lava lamps are becoming more and more hard to find, and with two weeks of continual use they are blown thus needing to be replaced again. the Halco 9104 has been continually running in my lava lapp for over a month and it shows no signs of diminishing. If you need a good bulb for a lava lamp this is my recommendation.

i bought these light bulbs because they were recommended as what others had purchased along with a lamp that I had bought from Amazon. This lamp was supposed to be a reading lamp and I'm sorry to say that these light bulbs do not provide adequate enough lighting to read by. The lights themselves are of excellent quality and perform as I would've expected a 25W light bulb to. I went against my better instinct thinking that these bulbs were some kind of super bulbs especially considering the exorbitant price I was charged for them!So I do not really blame the failure of my expectation on the light bulbs themselves but on the lamp seller's assertions that they would provide adequate reading light because they where spot bulbs. My only compliant about thee bulbs and their seller is that they are way too overpriced for such tiny low wattage bulbs and the shipping charge was extortionary!If you're looking for a spot lamp to give a soft tightly focused accent to let's say an artwork from the ceiling and no more than a few feet away from it, then these bulbs will work just fine. But they fail as reading lamp bulbs.
