went to new England on Vacation searched for several Seafood Shacks. found about half the other half were closed. But that's the economy for you. Still a good book.

Can't understand the one poor review this got. We find it well-written, entertaining AND accurate -- even now, when it's 5 years out of date. Since buying the book, we've been trying to hit as many of these places as possible. I hope Ms. Bougerol does an update!

bought for myself and plan to try a couple of these restaurants that I did not know were so close to me. I live in MA close to NH and ME borders

We just did a trip from California to New England and basically ate our way up the coast using this book as a guide - It was amazing - great food - wonderful places - buy the book and use it if you love great sea food

Was really suspicious, because this book covers some of the big touristy places (Woodman's, in Essex, for instance) but was pleasantly surprised. We spend 2 weeks on the Cape every year, and this book has some suggestions that we didn't know about, along with coverage of some of our favorite places. Lots of seafood trivia, too -- was expecting a straightforward guidebook but it's really more of a coffee table book. All in all, a really good purchase.
