Great addition to the tackle box
This item was purchased as a gift for the fisherman in my life. It is durable and works great. The digital feature makes it quick and easy to read. When you catch the fish of a lifetime you want a quick reading! Perfect gift and product.

One of the better scales I have seen for the price.
So far so good. Tested it with another very accurate scale and it was spot on. Time will tell if it lasts. I like that it has memory for the last 10 weights. Also, you can erase any of the recorded weights. It is good that you have to push the power button for a couple seconds before it powers on so you don't frequently turn it on inadvertently. It has a good hook on it that is made to hang fish easily. Nice that the batter hatch is sealed so it is water resistant to prevent damaging the electronics. I just wish I had it when I caught my PB. I know for sure it was my PB but didn't have a scale. DOH!!I think the people saying that it didn't work when they got it are using it improperly. You have to hold the power on button for a couple seconds before it will turn on. I thought mine was broken or the batteries were dead at first.

Accuracy Assumed
Unless you're going to get it calibrated we can only assume these things are accurate. I'm a bass fisherman so just want to know if I got a 4, 5 or 6 pounder. Maybe to the half pound I care. I like the lip grip and simple mechanism. Good value. They're all a digital micro-chip; I don't think the pricy ones are any more accurate.

Works like a charm
I needed something new for measuring caught fish. This is affordable and had the ruler built in which is very handy. If fish often, Easily four times a week at least and this scale always works when I need it to. It's rugged , often ends up sliding around in the bottom of the boat during releases, but takes the beating and keeps on going.

Until further testing 5 stars
Over all so far I'm impressed with the scale and can't complain. I have included several photos and will try to explain what I was trying to show you.The battery compartment on the back of the scale is very easy to open with a coin, I used a quarter but don't see any coin not doing the job. I have no idea what the water resistance is supposed to be but was happy to see a quality O-ring built into the battery compartment door and since the door closed with what felt like a tight seal I'm optimistic that "when" I dump over in my kayak maybe it will survive (fingers crossed and I'll update as I gain more experience with this happening)Attached to the hook is a soft white almost clear nub. I can only assume it's to help store the hook and it happens to fit perfectly in either of the screw holes on the back of the scale (see photo) there was no mention of this in the instructions (that I only scanned and did not read with a fine tooth comb) but this is what I did. Speaking of instructions the parts I did read over gave good detail on how to zero it out and store previous weights measured and how to use the simple two buttons on the front.Accuracy: I used some lead fishing weights that I ordered in the same Amazon shipment to test the accuracy. It is 16 one ounce weights. The scale showed it to weight 15 ounces..... so either the scale is off by one ounce per pound or it's possible the weights are off by an average of 1/16 of an ounce per weight. At this time I don't know which one is the issue and won't reduce my rating until I can confirm and will give the scale the benefit of the doubt for the time being. I might do some more experiments with other items and will report back in a couple weeks.I'm never going to catch a world record fish and won't be using this to certify any fish. I'll be using it when my kids want to know how much their bluegill or catfish weighs and to have bragging rights over their siblings. If the accuracy turns out to be off after more testing I'm ok with that but my rating will be changed to correct my findings.Over all it gets my recommendation so farDisclaimer: I payed full price and never get discounted or free stuff! Amazon you have my address on file if you want to change that...Edit to add photos again. Amazon, What's the point if your not going to include them the first time I post a review?

Good product
Bought the AMIR Digital Fishing Scale with Gripper and this product at the same time. Both are good for the money. Accuracy seams good. Smaller overall size than AMIR. Note this weights in #'s and oz's as opposed to #'s and 1/100's on the AMIR. Numbers are displayed on gray background and can be a challenge to read depending on light conditions. Also be aware that 2- 2032 batteries are required and they stack.on top of each other. Do this at home instead of 6' waves.Mike

Meh
Takes a little practice to figure out, and often have to restart to get an accurate weight. My 3lb dumbbell weighs somewhere between 2oz and 3lb 3oz. Who knows how much this 2-8 bass was.

Scale
I use a scale for weighing out hay for my horses. The only thing that is a bit inconvenient is that it Hass to be reset after each one is done.
