Minersville

Years after my now husband and I were just dating, he shared that his father’s side of the family settled in Minersville, PA back in the late 1800’s. Minersville is less than 5 miles from Pottsville where I grew up. Long story short, I bought this book as a birthday present for my father-in-law’s 81st birthday. He loved seeing the old photos of the area and learning more about his ancestors’ beginnings here in the US after they emigrated from Lithuania. Today his family members live in the Midwest and Northwest, and it has been a real treat to know those details of Minersville included in the book have brought to life a renewed interest in family history.Fo my father’s 79th birthday, I purchased a similar book about Pottsville where my family settled and where most of them remain.Ultimately, you can find these books about so many small towns in the US. They make wonderful gifts for older family members.

A great book about my hometown. My father grew up in Minersville. The old photos are great. Heck, the place has not changed much...
