Does The Job
I read a lot of reviews for products on the cheap end of the watch-winding spectrum – and looked at a lot of winders – before I settled on this model. Since this item was going into my bedroom, my main concern was there it would be noisy. It turned out that noise was not a problem with this winder. It runs quietly, and unless you are sleeping in a very, very quiet room, you will not hear a thing.Other pluses are that you get a nice wood finish (as opposed to plastic), “secured” storage for 3 more watches, and no blinking LEDs to keep you up at night. I’m using “secured” storage in quotes because the lock could easily be picked, but I like the old tyme key that comes with it, as it makes it feel like an antique. One reviewer commented on the chemical smell he or she experienced after taking it out of the box. I noticed it too – not sure what it is – but I didn’t smell after again after putting it on my dresser. A new car has a chemical smell, too, but that’s no reason to worry. In fact, this unit would be perfect it had more TPD (turns per day) settings. One reviewer calculated that modes A & C operate at over 2000 TPD, which is high (other models have a top setting that is below this). I have an Orient watch with a reserve indicator (the watch itself has a reserve of 40 hours). I put the watch in the winder overnight with about 25% power: it was at full power when I checked it in the morning.I’m not a watch expert, so I’m not sure if it’s “bad” for a watch to always be operating at 100% reserve power. On the weekdays, this unit is winding Seiko 5, and on the week days, an Orient , so I don’t have much money on the line here. This could be an issue for a high end watch, like a Rolex, which needs only 600-700 TPD. Perhaps a problem with watch winders is that there doesn’t seem to be an industry standard, and there are a number of factors, including turn directionality, speed of turns, angle, total amount of time turning, that all complicate a simple analysis of how a particular winder will affect your watch. With only three modes to choose from, your options to experiment are limited.

Worth the dough
I bought this one because it will run on two C cells and a 120V transformer as well. I'm running on the battery because I've too many cords in my life now. I'm using the 4,000 mAh Tenergy Centura C Size Low Self-Discharge LSD NiMH Rechargeable Batteries, 1 Card 2xC and I just replaced them the first time today, they're charging now. It ran 12 days, 5 hours on the NiMH battery (two cells). I run in "Auto" mode in which it rotates in both directions, alternatively. I have one large watch in it, a Marathon CSAR. A heavy watch, off center. You can expect a longer battery run on alkalines, so If you travel consider the length of time you're going to be gone. When it's time to recharge the carousel will rotate several degrees, then stop. It will keep trying like this. It is very quiet. I can only hear it when straining with all other noise-makers like A/C, ceiling fan etc. shut off. Then it is still hard to hear. I think if you want to hear it, try a stethoscope. This is my first watch winder. I dropped one star because of the fit of the lid. Mine contacts near the hinges and laves a gap at the lock side. This makes locking it a bit of a challenge. I don't lock it so the gap is a bit larger still. I find the claim that it takes almost 60 days to build on of these laughable. It's obviously false. I think they're counting an absurdly long time for the polyurethane to dry.*UPDATE* 12 SEP 14 - The second run on a different set of 4,000 mAh Tenergy C cells was 12 days 17 hrs. Started a run with the 5,000 mAh Powerex MHRCI2 Imedion C 5000mAh 2-Pack Rechargeable Batteries . Those results in 10+ days.*UPDATE II* 27 SEP 14 - Completed a run with 5,000 mAh Powerex MHRCI2 Imedion C 5000mAh 2-Pack Rechargeable Batteries and I just charged them after 15 days, 30 minutes. I don't use alkalines, so there will be no further updates. *END TRANSMISSION*

A good value for the money, and attractive too.
This is a very nice watch winder cabinet for the money. The finish gets an 8 out of 10, the fit gets the same, and the mechanism, so far, has been whisper quiet. The wood is nice (it's real wood, albeit a plywood of some sort), the liner material is a nice grey textile that feels both soft and durable, the glass is clear and not wavy, and the brass lock looks nice, too. A neat touch was a glass cleaning cloth that came with the unit, presumably to make sure your watches are displayed as nicely as possible! Also, the wood happens to be finished in almost exactly the same color as one of my favorite basses - a coincidence, but they sure do look good together. I only have two criticisms, both of which revolve around the watch pillows. The pillows in the winder work great for watches with strap buckles, but if your watch has a bracelet strap, and you have a loose wrist, it's going to be a very sloppy fit. I made a bit of cushion to put under the dial of my Seiko to fill the gap, and it now rides without any monkey motion, which is good, because I sure don't want it banging into my Xeric Halograph! The other complaint regarding the pillows is just something inexplicable to me... there are 3 extra pillows in a nice 3 watch display area at the bottom of the case (not visible in the picture, but finished very nicely), but the pillows are far too wide to fit in the winder, which means you can't simply swap watches around to keep them wound - you have to switch pillows as well. Strange. I'll be modifying them as I add more automatic watches to my collection. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this winder to someone who has a few automatic watches and would like to keep the springs wound, without breaking the bank.

Works great, excellent quality.
Works really well, very good quality, I like the three extra slots on the bottom, would have been nice to include a light inside. Super quiet, makes no noise. Had it for a little over a week with no issues.

Watch Motor
The media could not be loaded. First impression that is the color and interior but after I bought from August and now it make me disappointing in it because it is start having an annoying sound from the motor and it is very uncomfortable. And it sounds even worse through days.
