Mounted this bad boy last week up on the back splash
Mounted this bad boy last week up on the back splash. Love the look, form and function are all on par. The only thing that concerns me is training my family to use it correctly to not damage any edges on my expensive knives. It does come with nice instructions with pictures, so if your significant other, children, or roommate uses it, tape the instructions on it to reinforce the process of spine first set down and lift off. I imagine a few weeks of repetitive motion should instill good techniques and practice. I would have liked to mount this inside a cabinet door but it's a little too wide. All in all, I dig it and will probably be back for another, one side for pairing knives, steak knives and stainless cooking utensils, and another strip for chefs knives, bread knife, and santokus. Really opens up space.

How to get more counter space
I was finally able to get the knife holder installed today. Very easy installation; would have helped to have the size of the screws for drill size as I was asking a friend to do the work. It's installed in the tile backsplash beside my stove - perfect size (18") for the space and the number of knives I was interested in hanging. I'd previously had a very large knife block sitting on the counter, and with limited space, I wanted to have one on the wall to enable more counter space. While this will hold all of my knives, I find it less than adequate in its holding power. I was expecting AND WANTING something that would hold as well as my previous 10" model. So, with this said, I can only rate it 3 stars. It does hold the knives, but I had a difficult time placing them "just so" as to get enough holding power for some of the longer ones.

Well hung
I gave this 4 stars, it holds my largest knives, but they should be placed carefully being sure they actually stay in place, this depends on the types of metal used in your knives. The one I bought was 13 1/2 inches long, if you want to hang it horizontally it should fit between two wall studs, I hung it vertically, I wanted to use diagonally but the shields for use in dry wall are not a good way to hang. Both ends should be in studs. In this case bigger is better if not hung vertically on a wall stud.

I love this! I have a tiny apartment where storage is a lot less than my previous house that was double the size. So, of course, there's only 2 drawers and not enough counter space for the knife holder. This is a perfect add on for one small kitchen. I docked a star because I ordered 2 to put side by side, but there's a noticeable lift on the right side of it on both of them. The idea was 2 have one long continuous bar but it's not flush against each other.

so good. I have 6 knives on it
We got this knife holder to replace an old one that is very heavy. We were able to mount it on the side of the cabinet with Contact strips as directed by the customer service person in the Q&A on Amazon. So far, so good. I have 6 knives on it. If I could change anything, I'd make it so that the magnets go all the way to the ends, but you can tell before you order it that they don't, so I can't really complain about that. It's perfectly fine for the price.

Space Saving, quality, sleek, cool looking product.
Great product, especially for kitchens that don't have an abundance of counter space. Looking online there are many 'space saving' solutions to having a small kitchen, but few look as sleek and cool as this knife holder. When guests come over they mention how neat the knife holder looks. Although it does save us a lot of space, it generally looks nice and almost like a piece of wall art. I think it would be a valuable additional and potential conversation starter for any kitchen.Case and point: My fiance's parents have a giant kitchen - saw our knife holder - and asked where we got it because they were considering it.

Reviewed at free will/For no free product
This product delivers exactly as promised in the seller's item description. I had read several reviews before my purchase. Although, the positive ones had the biggest influence on me, I still had my doubts; about the holder's actual carrying capacity. Not only is my countertop clear for much more essential kitchen traffic stops but this strong as well as aesthetic addition to one of my kitchen's walls is the most practical/efficient item I had bought in a long time. The two screws one of which I have mounted to a stud make the difference: My knives have a sturdy (non-wobbly) hanging spot now. Enjoy!

Does its job, and then some
I mounted mine under a cabinet to hold knives horizontally, rather than vertically. I guess this is not recommended, and might be a little unsafe, but it works for me. It could be a little stronger; it can hold one of my pairs of kitchen scissors, but not a slightly bigger pair. But it's plenty strong for my 10-inch Victorinox chef's knife. Again, though, I'm getting good functionality for on an application it probably wasn't designed to handle.
