Julie Andrews' Treasury for All Seasons: Poems and Songs to Celebrate the Year

This is a lovely collection of poems that you'll want to keep at hand throughout the year. There are selections for each season, month, and holiday. Gorgeous illustrations enrich the reading experience. I bought it to share with my two-year-old granddaughter, but will need to put it away for a few years as it is more appropriate for older children.

This is the second anthology by Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton. The two of them did a great job of choosing poems for this book, and they covered holidays unfamiliar to me. Each poem has a place and purpose, and it is a joy to sit down before going to bed and read a few that pertain to the nearest holiday. I especially enjoy the poems written by Julie and Emma. I love to write poetry, and most books of poetry appeal to me. This one is no exception.I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read. It can be enjoyed by the entire family, and would be a great enjoyment to be read to the family by someone who loves to read, especially to children. It is easy to find something of interest to anyone who loves poetry as I do.

Absolutely Delightful. This book is the perfect collection of poetry for every season and holiday. The illustrations are charming and we love having this addition to our regular teatime reads. It's so nice to have some extra special to read for nearly every holiday and celebration as well as the change of seasons.

I love the selection of poetry, curated by Julie Andrews and her oldest daughter, along with the lovely watercolor illustrations. Taking off one star because the book was NOT new. When I got most of the way through, I was disappointed to find that the spread of pages 130–131 had been stapled together all the way around, with seven staples.I was able to remove them, and the pages in question were not otherwise despoiled in any way, but permanent holes were left in the pages of a book which was meant to be a gift.

Julie Andrews' Treasury for all Seasons is just that...a treasure! No matter what the occasion, Julie and Emma have compiled a delicious collection of diverse selections that are sure to touch the heart. I've also purchased the audio book, and cannot say enough how wonderful it is to hear these poems read aloud. Julie and Emma's expressive readings bring each poem and song lyric to jubilant life! I'm saving this, as well as the Julie Andrews' Collection of Poems, Songs and Lullabies, to read to my future grandchildren, and of course, enjoy them myself until then!

A real treasure. That's the best way to describe the cd "Julie Andrews' Treasury For All Seasons". It is such a careful production, from the poems' selection to Ian Frasier's music. But the highlight is really the way Dame Julie Andrews handle the words - some of them, their own - with that elegance and clarity of intentions that only she can bring to a text. A true Dame for all seasons.

I ordered this book after seeing it showcased on the Today Show. The poems are so neat and divided by each month and season. The artwork is probably the best watercolor I have ever seen for a children's book. This is not only a great book for kids, but for adults too, who might be looking to connect with their artistic side. (I have no kids, but bought it just for me!) The overall feel is modern with sortof a retro vibe that brings my childhood back to relevance with my adult life. Julie Andrews and her daughter hit a home run with this book. I absolutely love it.

This is a great collection of poems! It contains some classics but adds others you don't always see, so it is nice for grown-ups who are doing the reading.

Very interesting book for 8 & 9 years old girls - they loved the poems and the stories. Julie Andrews is such a good intertainer.

a wonderful read - something quite different than usual. look forward to perhaps other books from her in this genre.

beautiful illustrations

After seeing Julie on Anderson Live I knew I wanted this book because it contained poems from a bygone era. I thought it would have some of my childhood poems but I was sadly mistaken. I didn't know 95% of them. The illustrations are wonderful but the content was not at all what I expected.
