Perfect fit. Perfect replacement.This battery is exactly what my Alienware m14x r2 needed. Connecting to the laptop was seamless and a perfect, satisfying fit. An exact fit from the original. Holds a charge for at least 2-3 hours and that's on high performance mode on Windows 7. I can now finally enjoy using my laptop without having to be plugged in. Packaging was perfect in a anti-static bag and cushioned box. I am very satisfied with this battery and would buy again if ever needed.

Needed a new battery as the laptop could barely survive 20 minutes being unplugged from the adapter. The battery works as intended and gives about 2-3 hours of normal use (internet) not gaming . Note that at first the battery did not charge because the computer did not recognize the new battery. It would also drop from 70% to 5% randomly, but after reconnecting the battery (probably wasn't firmly connected) worked like a charm. Laptop used with this is the Alienware M14x R1, 5 years owned still good. Not sure how people are pulling 8-9 hours out of laptop batteries especially for high performance laptops. Give it a try, if it doesn't work ask for full refund or new battery! Been almost 1 month no problems, will update if needed.

The older battery still worked but only lasted an hour. I figured a new battery would give me a much longer life. I could never get my laptop to recognize it. BIOS upgraded to the latest ver. A16. I tried installing and de-installing it about 10 times trying every method people suggested. Fired up to Windows with no battery (just plugged in) and installed the battery - it would never recognize it. Tried draining all of the residual current out of the system by having everything unplugged (power supply and battery) and pushing on the laptop power button for 30 seconds and trying that a couple of times. The battery cable seemed to fit snug though not as much as the old battery. I gave up and numerous attempts. QA problems.

This battery served as a replacement for my 7 year old Alienware M14x. It was an easy install, but remember to save the screws from the original battery housing. I am getting 3-5 hours per charge. Haven't noticed any decline in the 1 month of usage. Will update if it starts to drop. Shipping was very fast on the east coast.

Initially the battery worked fine for my Alienware M14x R1, but five months later it will no longer charge. I have tried Dell's troubleshooting tricks, tried both the 150w power adapter that came with the laptop and a new 180w adapter that came with Dell Precision 7510, all with no luck. The built-in diagnostics for the laptop clear the battery with no problems, yet the battery will not charge when plugged in regardless of the laptop being booted up or shutdown, leading me to believe that the problem originates with the battery. The symptoms are identical to how the original battery failed, however that one lasted five years (2011-2016), not five months. I'd have given this battery five stars to begin with, but I wanted to see the longevity before rating it, and unfortunately I can't speak to highly about said longevity.***Update***I've updated my review from two stars to four stars. I reached out to the retailer about the failed battery and was able to exchange it without any hassles. The new battery seems to be working fine, so we will see about the longevity of the replacement. I'd still give the battery two stars, but since the retailer was so easy to work with I'll give it a four overall.

Update: I purchased another battery from a different brand on ebay and it had the same charging issue. Ended up being an issue with my charger instead. Changing the review from 1 to 3 stars because I'm not sure it was the battery at fault but it did still arrive damaged which isn't good. The price is really good and it fits nice, just be wary when buying.Original review: One of the mounting screw tabs was broken off and the battery wouldn't charge at all. Had 3% life when installed and after hours plugged in there was no change. Tried several suggested fixes and no go. The fit is really good and it seems like a good battery, but I was very disappointed.

I ordered this for a Dell m14x R1. The price was right combined with my Amazon Prime shipping. The battery arrived in excellent condition and on time. It installed perfectly. The battery was almost charged to full capacity but I let it charge over night. As far as I can tell, the battery life is the same as when my laptop was new from Dell! Happy to have a new battery! I also ordered a new charger cord (Dell OEM for the m14x R1). So it's like a new system now. Game on!
