New Star Foodservice 51148 Insulated Pizza Delivery Bag, 20" by 19" by 13", Black

Part-time pizza catering and delivery driver for 14 years. Been happy with Red (50134) bag purchased April 2020 to isolate from shared bags at height of COVID. The aluminum liner had shred some exposing the foam insulation enough after 1000's of loadings/unloadings so looked to replace.Clicked 'Buy It Again' link from my previous order. Chose Black color this time only because it was on sale for $12 less that day. Same 'New Star Foodservice Inc' merchant as before, same size, same look. Maybe I'm crazy but the quality of the materials appears inferior. The bag is lighter, for one.The foam insulation layer seemed thinner on first observation but that may be because the aluminum liner appears slightly thinner, more brittle, less pliable enough to make a pronounced crinkling sound. The outer cover seems thinner, too, compared to the 3-year old red bag.The zipper is less robust, less smooth as previous model. Difficult to zip/unzip around corners even when being slow and methodical as I am. Also, the way the bag was folded for shipping this time put the semi-permanent collapsible creases on the flap, and top and bottom of bag instead of the sides. So I have to awkwardly hold the zipper up/horizontal against the fold with one hand while zipping with the other. The zipper pulls are thinner metal or plastic -- one of them broke off in the first week of use.This black bag may not last as long unless I'm MUCH more careful loading/unloading due to fragility. I may try a more expensive and 1-inch smaller FSE next time.When front-loaded the 20x19x13 size holds 6 of our large 15" x 2" boxes and 7th small box and still zips easily. Can even hold an 8-9th box at side/front of stack if the contents allow the boxes to be turned vertically on their edge (rolls, bread sticks, utensils, etc). Waterproof exterior. Wipes down easier than nylon.On runs where you might have to open bag once or twice, this particular design keeps hot food hot-to-medium 20-35 minutes and lukewarm 10-15 minutes longer. Left unopened, hot food will keep lukewarm for 1.5-2 hours. That's better than the water-resistant nylon, polyester insulated bags the restaurant stocks, especially after those get broken in or saturated from condensate or rain.For those complaining about holes in a warmer bag. Without those vents allowing some steam heat to release, your liner condensates far worse, your boxes get damp and the product suffers. Comes into play if you are on a delivery run to more than 1 stop. If pizza boxes are getting soggy in these bags as a few have mentioned the food box ventilation (or lack thereof) design is inferior, dough/toppings may be too moist, under cooked, not browning, too much cheese or oils, etc. so you may need to wipe dry the aluminum liner inside the bag between runs.

Worked out really well. Bought it for transporting pizzas to a party for a dude who was an hour late, and the pizzas were still hot. Worth the buy.

I purchased this item to use in our high school football snack bar to keep pizzas warm. It works great. Definitely serves it's purpose.

I use this bag for doordash. It paid off within the first week. Because of this bag I get larger pizza orders to deliver. I can drive five miles or 15 minutes on a delivery and the pizza is just as hot when I get to my destination a it was when I picked it up from the restaurant.

The product photo shows it with six pizza boxes. I squeezed in six standard two inch boxes and they were so tight, the sixth was crushed and they Were too tight to remove one without tearing it. The bag itself seems well made

The bag was as expected. It’s pretty big and sturdy it holds 8 pizzas. Lots of food. It keep the food hot or if I want to keep things cold. I love this bag.
