DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Poland Paperback – July 1, 2013

Whenever I travel out of the country, I always buy a DK Eyewitness Travel Guide for that country. Besides having beautiful pictures, it starts with the history of the country and then divides into separate areas and goes into great detail. I have never been to Poland and although I could have bought a copy, I noticed the new edition was coming out in July, so I pre-ordered the new copy. It gives you the history of all the different regions, where to go. What to see, and they are always spot on with their recommendations. If I were only buying one travel book for this trip, this is the one I would buy. It's the best of the best.

A useful and versatile guide. I did, however, have the 2001 edition already. This is the 2013 revised version of that earlier edition. I thought I would get a whole new approach. I recall reading that in 2016 a whole new guide will appear -- worth waiting for.

Several persons on our tour of Poland had this book. It provided some very lovely pictures, but I just couldn't get involved with the text. The Rick Steve's Tour Book of Poland was my reference for the history and general orientation and provided a real feel for the people and the land.

Great book that gives you some history of Poland and great descriptions of historical sights. The map is always useful but I use the Internet as well. It's a little big to carry with you while walking around but if your traveling companion has a purse, she can carry it.

Not as easy to use as some other travel guides but did have good information.

I love this book. I daydream about visiting Poland. This book gives a lot of information which would be helpful for a visit.

I love that this guide book has photos!The only con is that I felt like there were a few places that were not included, but the book is so full I guess some omissions had to be made!

I was thrilled with the quality of my Eyewitness book of Poland. It arrived promptly and proved to be excellent value. It will be very useful on my forthcoming trip.

Went to Gdansk and was really useful, plan Krakow next where sure it will be as good. I think the DK guides are best travel guides can get at present

Not as much detail or information as some of the bigger tourist countries such as France or Spain so the book is thin, but it is still informative for the major cities, beyond that there is not much use for this book.
