Al-Ghazali

An awesome read for children by Fons vitae. Fons Vitae has done a HUGE service to humanity by publishing this book about a great Scholar. I always wanted a good quality al Ghazali book that has child friendly text and comprehension for my children under the age of 7. I was excited to find this beautifully illustrated book and excellent prose. People of all ages will definitely more than enjoy this book. Highly Recommend. Thank you Fons Vitae and Amazon.!!!

This book was bought for my daughter of 9 ywars age to teach or introduce spiritua little. At the time I thought this book summarised his teachings from the Ihya.."revival of the religious sciences".his monumental work, but was actually an introduction and summery of his life...the summary of teachings for children is the next project by this team which I hope they will complete soon...I am not sure if a 9 or 10 year will understand the book if read by themselves so must be read by parents.....pictures are beautiful but I don't agree with drawings of what looks like angels while Al Ghazal is writing and time of his death....which I dont agree with from an islamic perspective. ...realm of the unseen is unknown to humans and should precisely left to that, and should not be subject of human imagination. Otherwise a good introduction for children to Al Ghazal. ...whose teachings is valid today as it was at that time.

Beautifully illustrated. There is a lovely lesson for children and early teens about the ego and how the ego can obfuscate human progress, even when it comes to acquisition of knowledge. It is a panacea for our times, when schooling and university education is so vocationally based! As this is something that more adult readers can relate to, it is an excellent book to be read aloud to the young; this way you can pepper the reading and luxurious drawings with accounts from your life.

Beautifully illustrated book with concise but comprehensive narration. Although Ghazali was a Muslim Scholar, this would be a book which anyone who believes in God and the struggle with our inner desires. I would recommend this book for ages 8+.
