The singing stylings of small-town beer deliveryman Deke Rivers (Elvis Presley) get noticed by promoter Glenda Markel (Lizabeth Scott), who sees the young talent as a means of jump-starting the career of her ex-husband, fading country bandleader Tex Warner (Wendell Corey). Elvis' first starring vehicle also features Dolores Hart, James Gleason, Paul Smith, and a cameo by his parents, Gladys and Vernon; songs include "Teddy Bear," "Got a Lot of Living to Do," and the title tune. 102 min. LIONS GATE DVD RELEASE IS THE BEST
Elvis Presley's second film, Paramount Picture's "Loving You" has been very hard to find on either DVD or Blu-ray for years. The best release of "Loving You" is from Lions Gate on DVD which was released February, 25 2003. The movie itself is very entertaining and one of his best. The price is usually high for this, however, check the used DVDs available and you'll more than likely find one for around $20.00 or less. I purchased my copy which was advertised as "used - very good" and was very pleased to have received a DVD that was in perfect condition. This Lions Gate DVD is a 100% studio quality disc with a colorful Menu depicting a picture of Elvis with his guitar and containing selections: Play, Interviews, Chapters, Subtitles. The movie is in Vista-Vision widescreen and looks great with a sharp picture and high quality sound. This is the best DVD release of 'Loving You" and the film quality is the same if not better than many of Paramount's other releases of Elvis' films on DVD. Buy the Lions Gate DVD with confidence and you will not be disappointed.

ELVIS' parents are in Loving You
LIKE: It's Elvis. What makes it special is that his mom and dad are in it. When he goes down into the audience singing Whole Lotta Lovin, which is the last song, he turns and stops near his mom who is clapping. You can see his mom and dad a few times before this when they zoom in on the audience. The other exciting character in this movie is supporting actress, Delores Hart. This beautiful lady left Hollywood and became a nun. She has a documentary DVD called God is the Bigger Elvis. It's very interesting. She chose GOD over becoming a star in Hollywood! Amen!I didn't learn any of this until after he passed away and I was in high school and college. I am aiming to have all of his movies very soon! Only a few to go! Update: I have all 33 of his movies plus other!

A Great Restoration
For followers of the early Elvis in my age bracket, this was the self-biographical film that showed us that amazing talent for the first time, especially here in England. We had only heard his recordings up to now,and "Love Me Tender " being a Western did not show his magnetism off.He has superb co-stars in Lizbeth Scott, Wendell Corey and of course the lovely Dolores Hart who help make this film a family affair. The great songs TEDDY BEAR, HOT DOG, GOT A LOT OF LINING TO DO & PARTY are all there to help to make this my all time Favourite Elvis movie with KING CREOLE up there in second place, the Remastering is superb, a delight to watch and as with the man himself it is timeless, try buying it I guarantee you will not regret it....like Sinatra these two Masters of their trade will be remembered for many years to come. This Amazon purchase is well worth the money....

Great Movie
The movie is great and I love Elvis movies. I did wonder, however, when I saw on the box that the movie was listed as not to be sold outside of Australia and New Zealand! The opening menu was strange, however I hit the enter button and it played, but there was no FBI warning at the beginning either. The movie ran fine and the sound was fine for my purposes! I am concerned about it being pirated which is why I'm writing this message!
