Great for my specific needs!
When I bought this, I missed the fact that it is no adhesive but I am actually preferring it this way because you can use more than one time. I have almost always used the traditional heat pads from ZooMed that stick on the bottom of the aquarium, but on my plastic bin for my baby red tail boa, I could not get the adhesive to stick well which meant my poor snake was not getting the proper heating. With this heat pad, I placed it directly in the bin and the snake is getting a much better hot spot than before. The heat pad does need to be tapped down but that was ok with me since it means I can use it again. The pad feels like a large laminated card. I would recommend this pad if you are fine without adhesive. It also gets hot quickly. You will need to dial it down and you will NEED to use a thermostat like all other heat pads.

Good value, requires a mod around kids.....not a safety issue though.
This was 12 bucks delivered(Thank you Mr. Bezo's) in a day so if it works, it's a win, right? It works fine, I have it laying sideways under a acrylic 16x8" enclosure housing Matilda(she's in the corner looking out) the baby Eastern Box turtle. This allows her to move to warmer parts or off to cooler areas away from the heated section.I use a laser tool to measure temps. The temp control works, but again this was 12 bucks delivered and in typical fashion per the country of origin, the assembly is a bit loose and easy for the dial to spin. I used a piece of Scotch tape 2" long over the dial and taped it's location to the housing so it doesn't move if the cord is jostled. I also added a magic-marker "Reference line" so I would know where 80F was. It's maintains perfectly, rising and falling mere tenths of a degree from the setting.Very happy and it does what I wanted to to do!special K

Fantastic heat matt with built in rheostat that generates gentle heat
I am truly amazed how well this heat mat performs for the money. I set the temp and monitored in constantly for about 3 days. As the temps in my house change, so do the temps in the grow tub. But just as my house only changes a few degrees, so does the tub. So it's just like nature getting down to as low as 75° and as high as 78°. Room temps stay between 69° and 72°.I have a silicone matt that this heater is sitting on, with the grow tub above it. I put little spacer feet on the grow tub so air can move. I put my hand on the heater when it was at temp....didn't feel hot to me. So this heat is a very gentle heat. I like it alot. This would be great if used in a multiple matt setup to create a heat gradient for reptiles in cooler rooms. You would only need one thermostat probe (on the hottest matt), then set each of the others to the desired temp across the bottom or back of your enclosure. It's pretty much Identical to the Flukers, but with a built in rheostat.

Heats a full normal tank and keeps on going
Used in: standard full glass fish tank with a thin layer of coconut husk substrate for my leopard gecko.Tank is easily within temp range, even on the warm side for the Gecko. Dries out the substrate over time if you dont spray water regularly. If your pet has a home or shelter it sits in often I would put it on the opposite side of the tank. This thing can be quite hot depending on how well the pad is insulated under the tank. My only question is should I be using a heat lamp instead of this? Is there something a heat lamp provides that this does not? That is my only concern.

Perfect for insect breeding!
Exactly what I need, the temperature is adjustable. I used the heating pad for insect breeding and it kept it's temping fairly safe all on its own during testing.

Turn dial isn't temperature specific
Bought for our hedgehog. Heated up quickly and does the job we needed it for. But I was under the impression that the turn dial would let me pick the temperature I wanted. It's not marked, so I'm guessing at the temp range I want it at. It also puts heat out on the top and bottom of the pad, instead of just the top...

Actually not bad quality
Keeps a steady temp although without a way to tell what the temp is on the gauge you kinda have to eye ball it. Once you find a good temp it’s pretty steady and consistent. I use a thermometer to keep an eye on how hot it’s getting so I’d recommend getting that to make sure it’s getting the right temp

Useful for seed starting!
I'm using this product for seed starting, so the variable temperature control and lack of sticky pads makes it perfect. It does take some time to get the temperature just right - I placed a shallow glass of water on it for several hours and measured the temperature with a digital thermometer until I found the temp I needed.
