Eddie Bauer quality in the crapper....
First...I wanted percale sheets (one star, in description only) to replace the 25 year old Fieldcrest sheet set I have that is still in great shape, but it's out dated (the pattern--mid 1990's) and it's a little faded after nearly weekly washing for 25 years. Those sheets are smooth, crisp, yet soft with a good drape (not clingy like microfiber, but not stiff like cardboard). I have worn off the material details from the tag, but I suspect they are predominately cotton, with a little polyester. They never wrinkle, wash up amazing, do not stain, and in general are top of the line quality. So I was looking for a more modern replacement. I wanted a plaid, and I wanted percale (cotton blend would have been ideal, but I can't find any, especially in a pleasing pattern), in a queen size set. Seems reasonable...apparently that is asking too much. People have been duped with being obsessed with thread count. Cotton type and weave matter just as much, people......duh.I found this sheet set after many hours scouring the internet. The colors are OK, at least not offensive, and plaid (check!). They claim to be percale. Percale is made from long staple (typically Egyptian) cotton, and the weave has the same number of stitches going both directions. These two properties create a sheet that is smooth on both sides (equal number of threads), and the type of cotton ensures the threads will be smooth, and not pill. The thread count cannot be very high, because you can fit only some many stitches in a square inch when this weave is used. Usually in the upper 100's to mid 200's.I don't know what they made these sheets out of, but they are horrible and rough on the surface. They are either not a true percale weave OR they used very inferior cotton, like a cheap brand would use. Not only that, but we have standard sized pillows that are very flat since we are both side and stomach sleepers (not much loft in the pillows), and these pillow cases DO NOT cover the ends of our pillows fully. I measured them against my 25 year old set, and they are about 4" shorter than my old pillow cases. I will have to sew on some more fabric so that when I am sleeping on my side with my arm under my pillow I am not laying right on the pillow itself, sans the protective pillow case. THIS is a sanitary issue. Shame on Eddie Bauer, and if you have fluffy pillows, I can guarantee they will not fit right.I washed this set twice before we used them, on heavy duty, to break them in. My husband did not get any sleep on them, and I tossed and turned trying to fall asleep and ignore how scratchy these were. I am never the kind of person who has trouble falling asleep, so that is really striking for me.I feel 100% misled. Not only that but the tiny finished seam on the edges of these without any interfacing, means it crinkles up when washed and dried. Which only makes the pillow cases and flat sheet fit even more poorly. I swear, my 1990's percale set comes out of the dryer perfectly, I just throw it on the bed and pillows and it looks perfect. 'Murica, you have gone downhill. I do not recommend these.Update: Star rating dropped from 2 to 1, and it would be zero if I could give it that rating. These are the WORST sheets I have ever owned, and I am 51 years old. After 10 washings, they are still too scratchy and DEFINITELY NOT PERCALE. PERCALE has the same texture on both sides, and these sheets are super rough on the pattern side, but slightly less on the reverse side. However I put them on my bed after 10 washings upside down (smoother side) and they are still scratchy, grab whatever garment you wear to bed when you rollover, and they cling to everything---the flat sheet clings to the fitted sheet, the flat sheet clings to the blanket, and to you. Again, the pillow cases do not cover our small, standardized, flat loft pillows and I am constantly tugging at the pillow case all night. To say I get a horrible night's sleep on these sheets is an understatement. I never thought sheets could ruin your sleep. Eddie Bauer should be ashamed of themselves. I want to donate these, but I would feel bad for whoever ends up with them. I would not give them to my worst enemy.

Great sheets
After buying solely based on threadcount and other people's reviews I came across some eddie bauer flannel sheets that were fantastic. I bought them and another more expensive set of flannels and the eddie bauer ones were better. I needed some lighter weight percale sheets for summer and I took a chance on these because of the brand name and am happy with the purchase. I never knew what to expect from past sheets they always seem great initially and then not so great after a few washes. I'm just going to stick to eddie bauer brand bedding from now on until I get something that i'm not happy with.

Great sheets for sensitive skin😎
Loving these soft, cool, crisp, cotton sheets! Washing well, too...( my 90 year old mom’s longtime method...Cheer, warm water and NO fabric softner 🤗) Tried many imitations ...these sheets are FOR REAL! Thanks EB

Comfy like when I was a child
After trying over the past few years the newer (cheaper) “wonder-fabrics” of modal, bamboo, microfiber, etc I decided to donate all those bedding sets and switch exclusively to 100% cotton percale. Put these on my bed last night & they're great, reminding me of my bed growing up. Crisp enough not to feel slick, slippery or cold, soft enough to cradle you into a fine restful sleep. They do come out of the dryer with some wrinkles, which I expect will diminish with subsequent laundering cycles and which doesn't perturb me in the least, in any case. Glad I bought 3 sets!

SUPER CUTE!
These are really cute. Put in 6 year old boys room who mastered kayaking on his first go! He really loves them. Says they are very comfortable and soft. He says they keep him warm, (I don’t know if that’s the sheet or his new duvet)! But they are exactly as pictured. They do get a little wrinkly, they weren’t bad when I took them out of the dryer, but they wrinkle where his head rests all night, or where they get bunched up at night. The pattern is not overwhelming with the kayaks, they look like cute pin stripes then ..Looking more closely you see what the design is! I really like them. The main color of the sheet is also like a mild grey tone, which I love as to hide any stains that come along with boys! They wash up well too. Good purchase! Toilet paper roll and white towel to show color of sheet against white.

These are Percale. The real deal
Yes, these are the ones, smooth, crisp cotton percale. Okay, they are called Blue, but are really gray. on an off-white background. But, these are the sheets that a certain company in Freeport Maine gets $119 per set! Hoping for other patterns to go on sale, forty bucks is a great deal.

Worst sheets - they feel so cheap
I bought these based on reviews. They feel so cheap. They feel like sheets I would buy at Walmart for $25. I washed them and they are far from being soft or wrinkle free. These are seriously one of my worst buys. Beyond disappointed considering how much I paid for them.

Muy recomendable
Me encantaron, son suaves le quedan a un colchón algo, el diseño está muy bonito, si son de algodón y por lo tanto son frescas. Llegaron antes, como siempre Amazon excelente en la entrega

Perfect for our kids and worth the price
The boys loved these. We wanted something woodsy and a material that was light and fresh and these sheets were perfect. Yes they do wrinkle a lot but its not a deal breaker they feel so higenic and my two hot sleepers have been sleeping great on them. Theyre worth the price as they really are 100% cotton and are way better than the ones that come with bedding sets.

Good, not perfect
After a month of use the sheets are still in excellent condition after four washes including a stain removal. No pilling observed. I hope this means the sheets will last in good condition. As others noted, wrinkles are common. I don't mind; I knew what I was getting and they behave as advertised.Fitted sheet is of average depth; if you have a super-thick mattress the fitted sheet won't fit well. The fitted sheet does pull up at the sides, but has stayed fixed on the corners of my 10" mattress.I wouldn't say that the sheets sleep cool, although they are cooler than my previous set. They are comfortable, and not heat-trapping.I'd recommend purchasing these sheets at this point, but don't expect perfection at this price point.

Great sheets
Did a lot of research on different sheets and decided to give these a try. We knew that we preferred percale cotton sheets (we sleep hot) and knew that one of the downsides of that type is that they are more wrinkle-prone (which we don't care about). Most important to us was the comfort and feel of the sheets as well as them not pilling within a few washes. So far we have been very happy with this purchase and we've washed the sheets a few times without problem.
