I am pleasantly surprised with the brightness of this rope light. Hanging it proved to be a bit of a challenge for me, since I was doing it solo, and unless you have the lights positioned just right, the weight of the rope will just about pull any adhesive off off the surface you're trying to mount to for the first 10 feet at least (nails weren't an option due to it being masonite and not wood).I'm also having a similar controller issue that another reviewer mentioned. After installation, I've noticed that my lights, if left plugged in, will randomly turn themselves on with zero input from me or the remote. I'd just walk outside after installing them, during the day, and three times they were just...on. With how I designed my set-up and where the power cable to the controller is I unplug it nightly anyway, so it's really a non-issue for me (hence the 4 stars), but if I had these installed elsewhere that required me to have it plugged in at all times, this would be a complete deal killer for me and I'd want a new controller sent - or a refund. Luckily I haven't had any of the random fade/jump/color settings just automatically set themselves as the other reviewer did though.The picture you're seeing here is actually the white setting, and as you can see, it's plenty bright and the sun hadn't even set completely yet. The picture actually looks a bit more cyan to me, and it's not quite as white as a different brand LED strip that I use in my home office, but it passes my muster.

Purchased a dozen of these. One power supply turns on by itself. Another has colors that do not synch with the remote. Want to replace power supply.

I'm giving this product three stars because while I've had good experiences with it in the past, this time around the power supply didn't work. I had used this product for two years previously and loved it for outdoor and indoor decoration purposes. However, when I recently repurchased it, I was disappointed to find that the power supply was faulty. I hope this issue can be resolved because the product itself is great.

All we needed was a remote but had to buy another whole set of lights. BTW the new lights do not hook into the older (1 year old) lights, the plug holes are not the same size/location. But the remote works great. Used the new power supply&remote for the set of lights already hung. If another remote can be paired to power supplies we would by just a remote for this other set of lights.

I got one for the living room and one for my sons room, each of our remotes work on both light ropes at the same time. Even in different rooms and not connected to each other. So my son can’t choose what he wants and I can’t choose what I want at the same time. Super annoying. The remotes suck. I have to unplug my rope lights and plug it back in for my remote to work again, I tried new batteries and all, nothing makes it better. I can get like 2/3 changes then it stops working. The way they want you to put it on the wall with the plastic bracket and baby screws are awful and looks bad if you’re trying to get it flush to the wall/ceiling. I would get better than this for sure next time.

The media could not be loaded.  Here's the story for why my 3-star rating. I received the rope light only to discover a 1-meter section didn't light. (See photo.) Other than the defect, the rope light met my requirements. I accepted Amazon's offer to send me a replacement with the promise I would send the defective one back. A few days later I received the replacement/second rope light. And, it too failed testing. The lights didn't respond correctly to the remote. (See the videoclip.) More testing and the results are:: both remotes work, one rope light works and one receiver/transformer works. I gathered what worked and shipped the remainder back to Amazon. After a couple of weeks my parts selection is still working.Here are some observations about the rope light. It's well encapsulated yet very flexible. The RF remote is powerful. You can control the lights from better than 60 feet away, which is the limit of my testing. The lights are bright, even when set to the dimmest setting on the remote. The colors are correct meaning green looks green, orange looks orange, etc.. (My videoclip, taken with a cellphone, doesn't do the colors justice.) The remote has a strobe-like setting that you can adjust from very slow to really fast. Use caution if you have someone in your family who is sensitive to strobe lights. The "Technical Description" says no batteries required. The remote requires two AAA alkaline batteries. The shipping box was labeled that it contained lithium batteries. No batteries, period.

The media could not be loaded.  The lights are very bright and looked great for a few weeks. Loved how they look, so bright you could see it reflecting off the neighbor's yard.After a while, one of the power supplies went out of sync with the remote commands.Working with the seller to resolve the issue, the seller wanted a video of the issue, but the video attachment is too large to email. I'll update my review based on how things turn out with the seller.Update: Seller came through and sent a replacement. Updated to 5 stars. Any product can have a defect, it's how the seller handles service after the sale that makes a difference.

Bought my son these lights for Christmas last year for his room and he loves them! They take a little work to install, but brackets they come with hold them well. We had an issue with the remote and the company responded the same day with a simple fix to the issue. I then sent a message requesting more brackets and again, they responded the same day. Would buy them again!
