Tannins for Betta
Love this mopani wood. The tannins act as a natural water conditioner for betta. Adds a nice natural tan coloring to the water too.

Small but good
Small but good. Release a lot of tannins that's good if you want them if not boil or leave in water over night. I used the tannins in my 5g tank then after a few days I used them as hard scape in my 1 and a half aquarium where they look gr8

Just right for Beta tank
I was looking for a piece of Mopani wood that would be the right size for my Betta's 3 gallon tank. Everything locally was too big. This was just right. It is helping to keep the pH in the water at the right level, which is why I wanted it.

WARNING REVISED REVIEW!!! DANGER..... *****
ORIGINALLY I WAS COMMENTING ON THE SIZE OF THE PRODUCT... THEN THIS HAPPENED!*************** ππππππ **********I started the regular cleaning of my aquarium, and when I took the lid off my filter, it was BRIGHT pink.A quick search told me I had a massive problem. It is a bacteria that is almost impossible to kill.I have been fighting it now for about six weeks, buying new filter media medication changing everything from bubblers to plants, switching them out every other day after treatment (and even freezing them and setting them out in the sun, hoping to kill the bacteria)The pet store said some people bought new aquariums, set them up, removed the fish, scrubbed everything down, and let them sit for weeks to get rid of it.THE ONE AND ONLY THING I DID WAS ADD THIS TINY PIECE OF WOOD.I put it in some water and a piece of white sponge in the water, and it turned pink.By the way, nothing I have done will remove the pink stain from the new filter media sponge. Before throwing one of them away, I soaked it in bleach overnight..... didn't touch it.I have charcoal, sponge, and stone in one large filter. The picture is after four complete sets of new media, weekly cleaning, and treatment. This is what I removed today.Tank always looks clean until you take the nasty filter out and find all of the mess it leaves on everything.I am heartsick ...

Smaller than photo
Photo shows a piece of wood that fills the bag, mine did not. It does not have any sharp edges, however, and releases βgood stuffβ (tannins) into the water. I boiled mine for 15 minutes and it still changed water color.

Sturdy. Seems quality
It's a nice quality decoration, fish love it, it's funny to see them swimming around it and through it. It is holding up nicely so far at the 3-month period. Would recommend

Wish it sank
I had to anchor it down with some rocks, I had it submerged in water(changing it out) for a couple of weeks to leech the tannins before putting in my tank and it still just floats. Bit disappointing but thatβs how it goes sometimes!
