Not suitable for strong dogs
Overall I was pretty displeased with this toy. I got it for my Police K9 so I expect toys to not last as long as they would for a normal drive dog. That being said I noticed problems before the dog even saw the ball. For one, they use a metal washer to keep the string tied onto the ball. Be sure to remove that first before you give it to your dog or run the risk that your dog cracks a tooth and undergoes a painful (and pricy) surgery to have that corrected. When I took out the washer I double and eventually triple knotted the knot at the bottom to keep it in the ball. The dog just has to pull a little and the string pulls right through the ball and you have no handle on your dog or the toy.

Durable and FLIES
I use this ball for training and for running my working GSD. We both love this ball. I love it because the string never pops out or comes undone and because the string is long enough for me to launch it far. My dog loves all balls but this one is a good size for her.I am amazed that someone gave this ball a bad rating because their dog chewed through the string. I am also curious as to what string they think their dog won't chew through if left unattended with it. YOUR DOG SHOULD NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED WITH THIS BALL. I personally do not leave any of my dogs unattended with any toys. Toys are such a choking hazard. With that being said, I am guilty of my dog chewing through this string. Haha. However, that is no ones fault but my own and she will usually grab the ball and run to lay down and make quick work of it but that's the same with any ball with a string. I am usually on her quick to get it away; however, it is nice to be able to just add these balls to my Amazon order and get a replacement quickly. I highly recommend this ball for training and fetch purposes.

It's a keeper! Lots of fun.
This is a fun toy. My pupper is an aggressive chewer so the rope didn't last 3 days BUT I knew that going in. I can easily replace it now and then with a plain cotton laundry line/rope The ball itself is very rugged and durable She likes dragging it around by the rope indoors and out and of course playing tug of eat. I do reccomend it!!

My Dog is in Love!
As for my 4-year-old Boston Terrier, he absolutely loves this Dog Ball. First, like with any dog toy, I washed the ball and the rope with soap, thoroughly! Next, I sat my little boy down, and taught him to be careful, because he can get way too over excited and the ball is on the heavier side, so I did not want him to hurt himself...of course, he didn't hold back for long. He loved playing with the ball and played until he could not breathe anymore! I had to use my newly acquired fan to cool him down, and then we played another round of "Spikey Ball!" My only gripe with the product is the rope. My boy chewed through it in no time. I simply took the rope and replaced it with another stronger rope, and my boy is as happy as can be. Excellent dog toy!

Best balls ever lmao
My gsd loves her ball, she has this one and the 2 1/4 from her puppy days, they hold up great, and are a great pully, fetch and learning tool.

MUST have a thicker more durable rope. My dog is 6 months and medium size according to harnesses.
The media could not be loaded. Rope is longer than expected, which is nice. Rope could be thicker and more durable.Loona loves this toy!!*revision: rope broke in less than a day. I’ll be requesting a refund and perhaps a larger model? Think the rope will be any thicker?

Disappears in tall grass
Bought two. Next to impossible to retrieve after dog drops ball or misses it when tossed into tall grass. Black and yellow cordage along with mottled green and yellow ball serves as perfect camo in high grass. Bright blue , orange or red cordage would make retrieval by handler, if not canine , more likely.

Great ball to throw
I have a 100 pound Doberman and he loves to play fetch. I can't throw very far, but with the rope the ball travels a decent distance and my boy gets a workout. Dogs can see yellow and blue so he can find this ball when it lands on the ground in the grass.
