It's made of thin plastic but does the job. it cracked easy but I was able to fix.

I just received the pump but the directions do not tell a purchaser how to use it. The picture shows it with the water inlet on the topbut the purpose of the pump is to get as much water off the pool as you can. Seems to me the water inlet should show the pump upside down from the picture on the instructions enclosed with the pump. I am hoping that the pump can be placed any way you want and it will work because its a self contained waterproof pump.

The pump is adequate for daily use, but I don't expect it to last more than a season. I have to run it in warm water to unclog it. It gets annoying removing it before a cold freeze, but all pumps I've had don't survive the cold. I have purchased many pumps in the past and they all break after a season, so at least this one was not as expensive. A good value for the money.

This will be the 4th unit I have purchased over the past 8 years. I tried 2 others recently that were only about 1/2 the cost of this unit and they were absolutely horrible - (they literally had no suck power and the hose was a joke). I accidently posted their review under here before I realized it - Please disregard that review as it WAS NOT for this product. Work great for draining swimming pool and hot tub

I received my first one but it was defected I contacted the vendor who immediately responded and sent another one to ASAP. It is so worth the money and does a great job removing the water from the pool cover. Thanks

i bought this prouduct on september 2010, this item has a small filter makes it block with dirt very quick, and it can't drain the small spots on pool's cover surface. it can help but not perfect.

Clogs up too frequently, but gets the job done when the filter's clear.

Works great. Loved it. Would buy again.
