Turkish Delight Taste Adventure
I remember reading the Narnia series as a child many, many moons ago. I remember using my childlike imagination trying to figure out what Turkish Delight was, and why was it so special. This was long before PCs were found in almost every home. Those were the days of the encyclopedia rather than Wikipedia and the seemingly endless things you can learn in a very short time on the internet. Anyhow, I mentioned that because I was nearing my 4th decade, with a laptop of my own, and when someone mentioned the Narnia books to me, it reminded me of my quest all those years ago regarding Turkish Delight. Luckily for me, I was able to find it here on Amazon, where I buy most everything. In fact, there are different brands and varieties to choose from. I decided on this box because I figured the assorted flavors would give me more than one type of the confection. Wise move. The pieces of candy are relatively small, and it is all lightly covered in powdered sugar. A few pieces are enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, so even though the box isn't the largest, it goes further than it looks like it would. How would I describe the flavor? The closest thing I can compare it to is the inside of a jelly bean, so no crunch through any kind of shell, but a soft, chewy, fruity candy. Are they good? Yes! Are they now my new favorite? Undecided. I am going to try some more of the various types before I make my decision between "delicious" and "can't live without it". If you are like I was, wanting to try it but not sure what to expect, I think this box is a wise first taste of Turkish Delight. Enjoy!

Delicious! My students loved them and now we know what Edmund was eating in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
These were delicious! I got them for my 7th grade homeschooling class of 5. The 3 boys mostly refused to try them. I think one did. That left the rest for the two girls and myself. We both loved them. My 10 year old son also really loved them. We had read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe this year and wanted to find out what this strange sweet was that the White Witch gave to Edmund. I don’t think I would thirst for more, but they were good. I was expecting very icky sweet and they were not that despite the powdered sugar that encased them. They were, however, a real mess, and somewhat difficult to tell what flavor they were due to the powdered sugar mask. I would buy again for an illustration of what the sweet is, but it isn’t something I would regularly buy. I am glad I bought them, though!

Chewy but nice
Have to soften in your mouth a bit, not for biting into, very chewy. Tasty treat, flavors not strong, but discernible. Generous sizing. Natural food colors, definitely a plus. Comes in a beautiful box, would be a nice gift. These were not my favorite and I prob won’t purchase again but I enjoyed them for the price.

Delightful, flavorful, but very expensive for the amount you get
First of all, I am not of Turkish descent, nor have I visited the country. So I do not know what an "authentic" Turkish Delight is supposed to taste like. It seems like some people expect them to have nuts, and criticize them as "not really Turkish Delights" if they don't have them. I'm just going to judge them by how I've always imagined them: uniquely scented and flavored tough gummy treats. To the reviewer who said they taste like generic gummy snacks covered in powdered sugar, I'd like to find the generic snacks you're buying that taste like rose, mint, lemon, etc. Every Turkish Delight brand I've bought has a distinctly floral and minty scent and flavor to it, including this one. That's what sets Turkish Delights apart from regular gummies. That and their slight toughness. The variety of flavors of this brand seems to be the widest you can find on Amazon, and they're all delightful. Rose, mint, and lemon seem to be the standard 3 that all the other options have, but this brand has some nice additions like tangerine and watermelon. The flavors of the staple 3 are as good as in other brands I've tried, but the extra flavors could stronger and more definitively what they represent (ie, the tangerine could taste more obviously and blatantly like a tangerine). The amount of powder could definitely be lower, and the size of the cubes could be bigger, increasing the gummy-to-coating ratio and maybe increasing the intensity of the flavor. The cubes are about the size of standard sugar cubes, maybe even smaller. The other brands I've tried a bit larger than sugar cubes. My main gripe was that these is that they were $8 for 4oz, whereas another brand like Hazerbaba costs $12 for 16oz. This whole box could fit in two handfuls, and was gone the next day. The Hazerbaba brand had just about the same intensity of flavor (albeit less variety of flavor), but lasted me more than a week and was slightly less dense/tough as well.Overall, if you'd like some nice variety of flavors and nice packaging/presentation, buy these. If you want just the standard 3 flavors of rose, mint, and lemon, buy the Hazerbaba brand or possibly a different brand.Hazerbaba Turkish Delight with Rose, Lemon & Mint – 1lbhttps://www.amazon.com/Hazerbaba-Turkish-Delight-Rose-Lemon/dp/B00628570M/ref=sr_1_33_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1543956635&sr=1-33&keywords=turkish+delightsUPDATE:I recently tried the Galil Turkish Delights (just rose mint lemon), and I found them to be excellent. Definitely stronger flavor than the Marmara. More rose/mint/lemon than generic sugar/gummy taste. I'll have to compare the Galil to the Hazerbaba and Marmara back-to-back-to-back some time so I can give a good comparison of these three major Amazon-available brands.

The worst I’ve tried
Title says it all… every so often I get some Turkish delights as a treat for myself. I like to order a different brand each time to figure out which one is the best to have as my “go to” when I’m craving this delicate treat! This is by FAR the worst one I’ve tried. Turkish delight should be easily bitten into; I thought I was going to loose a tooth biting into these things and my jaw hurt trying to chew them. They are sooooo hard, I couldn’t even tell you if the flavor was good because the discomfort of trying to chew it was too intense. Skip over this one!
