AMAZING! EXCELLENT PRODUCT AT GREAT PRICE!
I was, rather am, amazed by this product. I needed space for my nine year old grandson's clothes of which he has a good deal of. The upper rod is for shirts and the lower is used for his jeans. The side cubbie spaces are used for tops and his shoes fit neatly on the lower rack just beneath his jeans.I'm still in awe of how sturdy this unit is. It was easy to assemble. My son was there to give more force to pushing the rods into the plastic. I was using a hammer with a few light taps and got the same results, but didn't want to keep up too much noise because it was very late evening. It took around 45 minutes because my grandson and I were goofing off. The directions are great. Very easy to follow and understand. So, I'd have to say that it could actually be put together in about 20 minutes. If I had to do another one, it would probably be closer to 15 minutes. Bottom line? It's easy to put together.Be sure to push all the rods into the plastic connectors completely and you should have no problems.I'd recommend this substitute close in a heartbeat. It's just that good. However, if you're going to use it for an adult's clothing, keep in mind that the items will be heavier and longer, so be smart. Don't overload the unit, then write a bad product report saying it's not sturdy enough. Spend the extra money to get something more suited to your needs. This product is A-1 for kids clothes, or as an extra closet. Not sure how it would do for coats because I have a coat closet. But, it's working great for my needs. My son will be buying a couple for his kids after seeing how well mines is holding up.Hopes this helps.

More sturdy than I thought.
I purchased this because I needed something for a temporary closet solution while we're remodeling. I looked over many products like this and decided on this one because of other reviews. We've had it a couple months now and I have to say it's more sturdy than I thought it would be. I have 12x12 fabric baskets on top rack and no problems with the rack bowing. The four side shelves each have a BHG 18x18 fabric basket on them and actually each are full and quite heavy. So far, no problem with sagging on those shelves either. I have hang-up clothes on the hanging rack on top. The only drawback I've experienced is the bottom clothing bar, the spacing is not quite right for hanging items. It's a bit low and clothes can drag the bottom rack. I would recommend using the slimline hangers as the plastic ones could be a little harder to hang due to the proximity of the upper rack to the hanging bar. Overall, happy with it and worth the price. Oh, and it wasn't hard to assemble, which was a big plus.

My Leaning Tower of Pisa
For $40 with free shipping, this is one of the best-value purchases I've made on Amazon. This open closet is exactly what I was looking for--a cheap, decent-looking, and somewhat durable storage solution. I'm really happy with the purchase but cannot give this 5-star because of the following cons after owning it for 6 months.PROS:1. Low price and free shipping.2. Decent looking storage solution.3. It does its job well, providing you more storage room.CONS:1. The rods are made of mostly aluminum (not steel as advertised) and the connectors plastic, which is why the closet is lightweight and cheap. So, don't expect it to hold lots of heavy jackets or anything heavy-duty. I use it to store sweaters, button downs, and a few light jackets. I store the heavier stuff on the lower bar and lower shelves. Even then, after 6 months of use, the closet starts to lean forward about 15 degrees. (I assembled it carefully, so I don't believe it's due to my handyman skill.) I utilize both hanging bars and all the shelves. So, if you don't maximize the closet's utility, you may not have the leaning problem like I do.2. Assembling is not easy and takes longer if you do it yourself. The package claims "easy to assemble," they underestimate the actual required effort of an average DIY person.3. The included instruction is not that helpful. It has pictures but low on texts. It doesn't tell you specifically which part should be put in which direction.4. You won't get a 100% straight standing closet like Amazon's pictures. Due to minor manufacturer's defects like some rods are about 1/8 of an inch shorter than their sisters or some connectors' sockets are a bit wider than the rod's diameter, you'll end up having a shelf or a bar slightly angled/crooked. This problem is common in cheap furnitures.ASSEMBLING:You need a hammer, a pair of scissors or cutting pliers, and preferably a partner who will help holding the other side of closet as you assemble it.Pay attention to the fact that the rods' ends have different diameters--one bigger than the other so that you can connect them.Think a step ahead of your actual progress. You don't want have the whole closet put together only to realize you forgot to install the 2nd hanging bar or installed a connector in the wrong direction.

Cheap, easy storage solution
I moved into a finished basement that was wide open, the only rooms were a laundry and a bath room. There was no closet or storage of any kind. I got two of these units and put them together to create a kind of partition to keep my sleeping are separated from my living area. I put all of my cloths on these racks. Most of them hanging, but I also bought some fabric bins to go on the shelves and used them for drawers to put my socks and other small items in. I had items stored on every square inch of these two shelves, including the shelf across the bottom. It was rock solid and worked like a charm.I found the system easy to install, with just a few hiccups on my part. The center bar is too close to the top bar for someone like me that wears big and tall clothing. It can be kind of a pain to put items on the rod, because there is barely enough room between the top rod and the shelf above it. I ended up removing the center bar on one unit so I could hang my heavy winter coats on that side.Pros:InexpensivePretty strong, can hold a lot of stuffEasy to put togetherCenter bar can be removedCons:Can be a little wobbly while lightly loadedCenter bar is too close to top bar for someone that wears big and tall clothing

Great Storage... still strong after over a year of use.
My husband and I purged most of our clothes and bought this closet. It fits all our clothes (approximately 50 - 60 pieces of clothes hanging and about 50 pieces folded). Easy to assemble. Sturdy. Great functionality. Not an eyesore in the room since it organizes well. Takes up a small amount of space.
