So far so good.
Battery is exact fit and easy to install, but way too early to tell anything about battery life, which should be at least several years. I have been following the conditioning protocols provided (charge/discharge), so we'll see. So far so good.

9 Cell battery for Studio 1749 laptop
I have the battery for over a month and it is holding a charge very well. Hopefully it keep that up for a couple of years, I use the laptop a lot and need the battery to hold a charge and be strong to operate the computer for a fare amount of time.

Defective battery.
Defective product. They exchanged it and sent me a new charging cord free of charge. No problems with the new battery.
