If you are going to get knee surgery (I have had 11 in my life), order one of these first. You will be told you can take a shower soon after surgery, but you have to keep the bandages dry. I have done the plastic film wrap and rubber band thing many times. It takes a long time to apply, takes a long time to get off, you have to throw away a bunch of wrapping each time, and there is usually some water that sneaks through. When sized properly, this Seal Tight keeps the water out. You just carefully stretch it over the knee so it is sealed above and below, and that's it. Carefully stretch it off after you have dried off. For me, not a drop of water got to the bandages, and I was able to use it over and over for the week I needed to keep the bandages dry. If you have every done the Saran wrap thing, you will love this.

My husband had knee replacement surgery and this allowed him to shower during the time he needed to protect the dressing covering the incision. I followed the advice of another reviewer and made a couple of small cuts on the end that faces down (smaller opening) to provide more comfort. Start small, so you can increase if not sufficient. The material gives, so try it on first. My husband has skinny legs, but the fit was quite tight prior to making those cuts. The material did not tear further and we reused the protector several times. It definitely kept the water out. I dried it in between uses and plan to keep it stored for possible future use. I cannot imagine trying to wrap his leg with saran wrap or something else. Simple, a little costly, but definitely worth it once he was able to stand and take a shower.

This may work if it fit. I ordered before my knee surgery & after my knee was swollen to at least two inches larger. We tried to cut the top but it then ripped half way down the side. So we used the tried & true plastic wrap & plastic bag methovd. With the bag taped at the thigh & tied with strung together rubber bands at the calf my surgery site did not get wet! 😀 The shower sleeve is nice & thick but I probably would have still taped at the thigh. It was an expensive mistake.

This product was a life saver and lived up to all the hype. I was told, "No showers" until the stitches were removed (approximately 3-weeks). If I don't shower ever day I could live with myself. This gave me the ability to shower right after total knee replacement and never got the knee wet! A must have for those who can't wait 3-weeks to shower. By the way, the thigh part is large enough to go over the knee without touching the incision; then fits snug on the thigh without any pain or discomfort. Thank you! Jim Dougherty

I’m 5’2” and 140 lbs and the medium size was perfect. My lower thigh, knee and calf have been swollen about six months due to a meniscus tear. After surgery it swelled a little more and this size covered about a 10” bandaged area completely so I could shower. The rubber that it is made of has a nice thickness and I’m sure would last a long time if it is not pulled over anything with a sharp edge. Even with swelling the thigh opening at the top and calf opening at the bottom stretched over the bandage easily and fit on my leg well with a good seal.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I just had knee surgery and was spending several minutes every night adding water tight bandages OVER my bandaids and then wrapping my knee with Press N Seal then taking it all off after my shower! Now I literally slide my protector on, jump in the shower and all is good! No water inside. Of course, I guess you must get the right size for it to work. I am 5'8 and weigh about 170 and I got the MEDIUM! Great product!

This thing works! I had knee replacement surgery and using this item I was able to shower easily. What a comfort to get a warm shower and get cleaned up! I never had any water seep under the sleeve and get on my incision. Get one!!!

Love that it slips over a very swollen knee, I felt a little unsure that the water wouldn’t get into the protector so I did I wrap it with waterproof tape around top part. It does provide a tight seal but I did it for my comfort level. It doesn’t look like it’ll stretch over the new part if you have a swollen knee but it does.
