My wife caught a decent yellow fin croaker. once I took the hook out of the fish I saw that it got bent from simply unhooking the fish. I caught a shovelnose and took the hook out of a 2nd hook and it was fine. so it looks like there may be some QC issues. I give it 2.5 stars but rounded up to 3.

I bought size 4. These seemed like decent hooks when I got them—sharp enough, no notable defects. However, first time out carp fishing I literally lost 4 fish in a row—two near the bank, two farther out. Hooks didn’t bend out so not sure what happened. I switched out to Gamakatsu circle hooks and haven’t lost a fish since. I’m no expert, but I’m wondering if there’s a design flaw in these. 4 lost fish in a row can’t be coincidence, right?
