Sleek and beautiful
This was the first drawer type microwave I had ever seen or bought when we remodeled our kitchen. It is beautiful, pretty easy to use, great quality, quiet, good size capacity. The only thing I didn't realize when I got it is that food is not revolving. You cannot use a revolving plate, so you have to turn food at times. I would buy it again.

Everything we hoped it would be!
We replaced a low-end microwave that died with this one. Our previous microwave sat in a built-in slot under a cabinet by the sink. Fortunately, this Sharp fit in that cabinet. Otherwise, installation would have required a professional carpenter. While the microwave fit in the space, the shelf the old one sat on had to be lowered, and also have additional supports installed. Drawer microwaves are much heavier than regular ones. These were the only modifications I had to make. This drawer microwave works like a charm. We couldn’t be happier. It cooks much quicker than the old microwave. One key feature that was a requirement for us was to have the control panel flip out rather than just being on the front like most microwaves. With a flip out control panel, you don’t have to bend or stoop to work the controls; just look down. This is huge for anyone with back or knee problems. As far as I can tell, only Sharp and Bosch drawer microwaves have this feature.

Zero stars
Do not buy this microwave! As the previous buyer stated, I too wish I had never purchased this product and would give it zero stars had that been an option. This microwave has a button to open and close the door. However, when you pushed the button to close the door, it would close automatically then immediately open, requiring one to manually close the door. We contacted Sharp who gave us the name of a warranty technician to service the unit. The technician came out and said he could not fix the problem as it was a defect in the unit itself. He did say we could use it until we got another one and he would inform Sharp of the problem. Two days later while defrosting a piece of bread, the unit started making loud grinding noises and smoke began billowing out of the unit. It smelled like an electrical fire. Pressing the stop button halted the noise but smoke kept coming out. After contacting Sharp about this new problem they have repeatedly procrastinated about addressing our request to have the defective microwave removed and provide us with a new one. Sharp does not stand behind their products and after two weeks of dealing with Sharp customer relations we are at an impasse. Sharp has ignored our requests to replace the microwave.

What you need to know if replacing the older model
I had to replace the prior Sharp microwave drawer model, which was discontinued. This appears to be the only option, specifically because of it’s 30” width. Removal of the older model was easy. Open the drawer, which exposes 4 screws mounting it flush to the cabinetry. Simply remove the screws and the old model slides right out (beware- it’s quite heavy and awkward). No brackets or other screws held it in. It simply rests within the cabinetry cavity, and is plugged into a normal outlet inside the cavity. The new unit will slide right into the cavity, with a slight exception (that is identified in other reviews). The new model has a fold-out program panel along the top. The panel creates an few more inches along the top of the unit, which precludes it from being flush with the cabinetry. Therefore, a slight cutout has to be done to the existing cabinetry to create clearance for the panel. If you are not prepared to cut the cabinetry, you can still slide in the unit and use it until you or a professional makes the cutout. An inconvenience, but there were no other options turned up from my research. The photo shows the new unit in the cabinet cavity, but sticking out a couple inches until I have a professional make the cutout. Hope this helps.

Great addition to modern kitchen!
Very simple install w electrical cord w plug coming out the upper left corner as looking at it from front) of back of microwave. Other than plugging it in, there were only 4 screws to hold it in.Functional very well with a reheat function that works off a sensor. I have used it for more than a dozen different items and it comes out perfect every time.Have only had this a couple weeks - but so far it has been a great addition to my kitchen remodel. After seeing my elderly parents struggle w removing hot items from their microwave above the stove. I wanted something better while remodeling my kitchen. Runs very quietly and I am very satisfied with my purchase. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stop Working
I have enjoyed my SHARP Microwave Drawer since October 2022. The appliance has allowed me and my family to heat our food within a short time. Unfortunately, however, we have encountered an issue that has negatively impacted our ability to have the convenience of finishing cooking in record time during these unconventional times. The heating unit isn't working, and we are having difficulty getting it resolved. Unfortunately, I don't have another $1,400.00 to purchase another unit because it would cause my family a great deal of HARDSHIP.Would it be possible that some can assist with addressing this issue?ThanksChristopher Covington
