I have a SomnoDent oral appliance and it came with 3 of these tablets as a sample. I assumed I needed to buy these tablets because I was told by my dentist that the Polident/Efferdent tablets can damage an acrylic appliance. I have since learned that these are probably not required. After I purchased them I visited my dentist and I was told to be very careful with this product due to a bad experience of another patient who somehow damaged his appliance just after the warranty period and had to buy another appliance one at his own expense. I was told a safe alternative is to soak the appliance in a solution of 50% water and 50% white vinegar -- and to be extra safe I would not leave it in any solution for longer than 5-10 minutes regardless of what I soak it in. Be sure to read your appliance warranty before you soak it in anything.

My husband has had sleep apnea forever...nothing worked. He finally got an appliance , $2700, paid for by regular health insurance, thru a good dentist locally, who said use only this to clean them, and he’s right. On a second note, I mention sleep apnea because it’s so dangerous - can cause heart problems, etc. Look into a dentist that can make an appliance, and then get SomTabs.

Great price for these. I use them often for my somnodent guard. No residue and I'm confident about it not being too harsh and damaging my equipment.
