Sturdy
Well made and thick enough not to bend easily.

Sturdy With Poor Finish
I should have known when ad stated color was "beige." Whoever heard of a beige piece of aluminum? Folks who sell poorly finished products, that's who. That said, the bracket is stout, and made in America unlike the cheap galvanic garbage made by the Chinese. Despite the awful finish, this is a good piece that should last forever. Just make sure your fasteners are all stainless steel.

Fit
It is well fitting the CE Smith 14β boat trailer.

Attractive, fits trailer just fine
This is aluminum, so no rusting, nice finish, but it will bend easily, which may be a good thing if you happen to scrape it on the ground. It installed just fine so the dimensions are correct.

Not Thin THICK
Much better than the plastic one that broke about 1/4 in thick. I almost did not order this after reading a few old reviews claiming it is thin and easy to bend the one I got is solid and I could not bend it I tried just using my hands

Not as heavy as I hoped for
Not as heavy as I hoped for. In an application where the plate doesn't get blasted by wind it would probably last forever. In an application like mine where the plate hangs out there for hour after hour in a 70-80mph breeze, the bracket is going to flex unless it is super stout. Metal in general and aluminum in particular do not tolerate constant flexing well. Extensive experience dragging trailers for hundreds of thousands of miles around the country has shown me that by far the most reliable, believe it or not, is a plastic bracket. While the steel brackets would crack and break off right under the taillight in no time (we're talking only a couple thousand miles), the plastic ones are very tolerant of the constant flexing. The plastic ones do need to be replaced every couple of years though, as through exposure to UV light and I guess just air, they will eventually get brittle and break. I was hoping it would be thick enough so that there would be no flex and maybe last longer than the plastics, but no way. Given that aluminum is even less tolerant of being repeatably bent and flexed than steel, it's up on the wall for this beauty until I find a use for it.

Very sturdy license holder
I needed a better holder for the license plate on my boat trailer, and this CE SMITH BRCKET works perfectly. I'm glad I made the purchase and would definitely buy again if I needed a sturdy holder for a license plate.
