Great alternative to white
I like using other colors since I cross over plenty of older marked in trails that use white. They are not at bright as the white but work well.

Easily seen
I used to use the opaque tacks and they were great for early morning/evening with a flashlight. But in the daytime hard to see. These orange tacks are much easier to find your path in daytime but come-on, ten bucks for a hundred tacks!. I should have thought of this.
