Excellent quality. Maximum brightness.
Great all around bike light. I have used a few different lights for road riding including the Cygolite Expilion 850, which has the same mounting system and is excellent. This light is superior in illumination to my other lights but by far the most handy feature for me has been the ability to go from any brightness setting straight to “Boost” with just a double tap of the power button, then return to the previous setting with a single tap. This is most useful just before a decent when it’s dark outside and you want to have maximum brightness for obstructions on the pavement, including wildlife. This also helps to maximize battery strength since slower speeds do not require the same brightness. The battery is solid and recharges quickly via micro USB port. I would buy this light again today if this was lost or broken.Update: Sept. 2020After nearly 4 months of regular use, my experience has only increased my appreciation for the quality and strength of this product. My commute is about 90 minutes one way, for a total of 3-3.5 hours (without recharging) of bright, consistent illumination. The snaps securely into the mount and once in place, there is no wobble or shaking. Highly recommend!UPDATE: July 2021, one year later…Still going strong. Great on the recharge and battery is still as long lasting as when new. This light is built for longevity and I couldn’t be happier with the performance and consistency that this product offers.

Nice Self-Contained Light
I bought this as an upgrade to a Cygolite Metro 800 with a damaged charging port. I use it as a bar light, and it works really well for that. The beam pattern is wide enough to light up the entire trail and it's bright enough that other riders on group rides have commented on it.It's also flexible - I can use it as a standalone light, or I can plug in a USB power bank and have practically infinite battery life even on high. I did forget to charge it after a ride once and on the next ride even after the button started blinking I got about half an hour of riding in before it died. That's plenty of warning that you're going to lose your light, so although I try to avoid that situation it's nice to know it isn't going to shut off suddenly.I did run it as a helmet light once, and although it may be a little heavy for that purpose it did work fine.Like the Metro 800, the light output is very stable. While I'm sure there's some reduction in brightness, it's not noticeable like it was on some other lights I've used.Overall I'm very happy with this light and for not much more than the cost of a Metro 800 this is definitely the way to go, unless you insist on the smaller size and weight of the 800.

Bright as day
I end up riding a lot at night, just the nature of having to get kids to sports practice. I tried almost a dozen other bike lights, from the cheap to the super expensive - they all either quit inside an hour, overheated, or could barely light up the front tire. When you are doing 18-22+ mph for 90 to 120 minutes at a go on a pitch-black road or bike bath with no streetlights, these are all unacceptable. Finally, I found this Cygolite - it works BEAUTIFULLY - it's about as bright as a car headlight, so you can see farther down the road than you actually need, and even at full brightness it LASTS. I've forgotten to charge it multiple days in a row - It finally crapped out (meaning it went into low light mode) after 3:30hours of ride time. This thing rocks. My daughter asks to borrow it for mountain biking, so we just remove light and mount from road bike and slap it on her handlebars. Easy peazy. Though, now she rides when I want to ride, so clearly I'm going to have to buy another one.

Ridiculous mounting system won’t fit any of my bikes
The light might be ok but the mounting system is ridiculous. It doesn't fit neither on my Cannondale Supersixevo nor on my Specialized Cirrus. Is that some kind of a joke?! Such an expensive light and now it is useless. I can’t even return it because I am out of the country. I couldn’t be more mad with Cygolite for them being so stupid.

Bought this for an electric unicycle
I have a Nikola plus and with the time change I'll be riding after sunset. The Nik's head light isn't very bright, so I bought this and mounted it to the trolly handle with rigged gopro mounts. The light is crazy bright and has a good throw, I just worry if I'll blind cars heading towards me, lol. Haven't had it for any amount of time, but it seems solid and well built.

Turn night into day.
If you are riding at night, lights aren't really in the category of "optional". You need to be able to see your path and be seen by others. This light it brilliantly bright and offers a multitude of modes to suit a variety of conditions. Weatherproof (IP67), a good internal battery, and a very secure mount for your handlebars. It might be tempting to get some cheap knock-off but given the dangers of an unreliable light I'd think investing the extra money in something like this is a much more rational decision.

Awesome Ranger 1400
Awesome Cygolite Ranger 1400 replaces my still very useful Cygolite Metyro 500 which is now relegated to secondary light; no problem with using the clamp that came with the Ranger on my 1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur stock System 1 handlebars.
