I love the artist’s paintings very much!

This volume absolutely delivers on the promise of the title and cover: it's gorgeous paintings of Tokyo at Night by an anime artist who specializes in backgrounds and worked on the beautiful anime Your Name. The artist steers clear of go-to flashy subjects like Shibuya Crossing, but still finds plenty of dazzling light and color in more mundane scenes. Each painting is accompanied by a discussion of the inspiration and some of the details.

the book was of excellent printing quality .both Japanese and English content. The text explained what was in the illustration above and was easy to follow the sequence of illustrations. Mateusz did a excellent job of explain how he made the drawings and the tool he used to created the water color. The facts that the story takes place at night the illustration give you as sense of what you would see at night in Tokyo

Really great art books. The artwork of Mateusz Urbanowicz is so impressive.

i like this book a lot as not only are the artists pictures beautiful but he explains how and what he does to create them.

I preordered this book from Amazon Japan and received it recently. I love this book-- 30 beautiful watercolor illustrations by Mateusz Urbanowicz of Tokyo at night! Lots of great text in both English and Japanese discussing why he choose to paint each painting, the composition and techniques that he used for each. In the back of the book further discussion about how he created the book. This book is a must have for anyone who loves watercolor or with an interest in Tokyo. The book's printing, layout and cover are of high quality! This is an outstanding book by a wonderful artist!

This is a beautifully produced book of enchanting watercolour paintings of Tokyo at night. The text, which is in English and Japanese, places every painting in its context with a detailed explanation of what the author was seeking to accomplish. There is map for every location. At the back the author talks about his materials and techniques, which is fascinating in itself. But primarily this is a book of enchanting urban watercolour paintings capturing the mood and texture of each location at night. A rare and very special book

「作品」→「前ページの作品の解説」→「作品」→「前ページの作品の解説」という構成で最後まで行く。作品や世界観に全然集中できず、がっかりです。できれば作品は作品で一気に紹介して、解説はまとめてして欲しかった。作品やコンセプトは素晴らしかったので、凄く残念です。

In the era of computers, it is always amazing to see such visual quality in watercolors. Mateusz Urbanowicz shows his love for japanese architecture in a beautiful way. Very interesting how he solves technical problems in watercolor that would be easy in Photoshop. Very inspirational. Text in japanese and english. The ice on the cake : an q&A with Makoto Shinkai. Mateusz has done background work on some Makoto Shinkai's movies... "Your Name" for instance ;-)
