Backstory: I started welding in 2006 when I took a class at my local community college. We had to go out and buy the basics including a basic helmet. They told us that auto darkening helmets just came out and they were $350 plus so we all ended up buying the same basic helmet. I own a concrete construction company that’s been in business since 1963 and I do the welding repair and fabrication on things that don’t need full on professional work. Sitting in the duck blind one day I brought up welding to a guy who’s son is an iron worker and he mentioned how cheap helmets were now. I instantly logged on to Amazon and ordered this with the help of some reviews. I have now fabricated a truck rack and a few other items since and absolutely love this piece! The adjustability is great since we just recently added all led lights to our shop. For the price, comfort, and adjustability of the bands and the lens I would recommend this to anyone! It hasn’t failed me yet!

Had mine for 2 years now and put it through a lot. Fits me nice and comfortable and love the larger viewing area. I had to replace the head band twice but thats no biggie its available here on amazon from "YesWelder". Only thing with mine is now after 2 years of heavy use and abuse the auto dark lens is starting to split on the side where you insert the battery to where the battery doesn't make contact at times. I have it temporarily fixed and its working getting me by, hopefully I can find a replacement lens or I'll be forced to get a new helmet which is not so bad after all I got my moneys worth.

It comes with one spare battery, two spare lenses, and a cloth carrying/storage drawstring bag.I like the huge viewing area and there's more than enough room inside to wear your glasses if you need them. It's more durable than I expected and the hood stays up when I want it. Adjusting the shade from 9 to 13 is done by a large knob on the outside of the hood. The knob seems looser at the higher and lower ends and tighter in the middle. It might be rubbing on something and it's not that big of an issue.I pushed the "test" button expecting the LED light to come on and it didn't. My mistake, test button makes the shade go dark on demand, and I think the LED only comes on when battery is low. Before figuring out it was my mistake, I looked at the battery. If I have any complaint it's about getting to the battery. The booklet doesn't even explain it. You have to remove the entire lens assembly from the hood first, but you cannot completely take it out because it's connected to the hood's shade knob via a wire. Then you have to remove a plastic frame from the lens assembly. Only then can you slide out the battery. It wouldn't be so clumsy if that short length of wire allowed you more maneuverability. Perhaps completely taking off the head band would give better access and clearance.I did some low amperage DC TIG brazing with the shade set to 9 and was able to see the arc and puddle. Then I did some higher amperage stick welding with the shade set to 13 and everything worked well. This is my first auto-darkening hood so I have nothing to compare, but I had no trouble with performance while test welding. I will update this review as needed in the future.

Have done a lot of welding over a long period of time, some professional and some hobbyist.This is a very good hood with a large viewing area. It is not built as a pro hood - it simply is not sufficiently heavy duty for that. But, performance and fit wise, it is great.The auto darken is fast, as I would hope in 2022, and I have suffered zero visual effects.The head strap adjustment is excellent/versatile and accommodates even larger hat sizes..For a great hobbyist hood, an easy 5-star rating.

Great fitting helmet, multiple adjusting knobs make it comfortable to wear. I’ve been using it for 3 years and have yet to have an issue with the auto-darkening. The extra battery included is a nice touch, Great value for the money. I’m only back on the item to look for a replacement lens screen

Head gear is very comfortable, high quality plastic, I’ve had the cheaper ones break on me. Controls are functional, very impressed, def competes with the more expensive helmets.

No way in the universe you can beat this helmet. It's a s good as a 500.00 helmet.Shield is large, delay works perfect, adjustments work perfect. Super padded and comfortable. Extra shields come with it, extra battery, carrying bag.I've bought 3 more for my workers and they have thrown there expensive ones in the truck.

The helmet works perfectly. And has adjustments for the auto darkening amd for the band strap. Perfect for small time welding at home for sure.
